Nice representation of bomber
Was pleased with the quality- seemed detailed with crisp panel lines and in a sturdy box for my stash. Good price will be a fair size model when built. I usually stick to tamiya border etc level kits but this one is a keeper.

Academy Captures an Important Historical Model Subject
Academy have done a great job in presenting a model kit of one of the great aircraft of WW2; the Boeing B29 Superfortress; while there are a couple of other kits of the aircraft on the market, this particular kit focuses on the two aircraft responsible for bringing the Second World War to a close, the Enola Gay; the aircraft that dropped the very first Atomic Bomb on the city of Hiroshima and the Bockscar; the aircraft that dropped the second (and last wartime) bomb on Nagasaki. The kit is fully detailed and consists of parts to build one of either two aircraft; while both planes were identical in terms of capabilities and build, it was their ordnance and markings that were different. When the construction of the actual aircraft is completed the modeller has the choice of building either the 'Little Boy' uranium bomb. or the 'Fat Man' plutonium bomb-both are included in the kit. Once the bomb has been inserted into the bomb bay, the respective aircraft markings can be applied after painting. While both aircraft served in the same unit, their markings differ. Also included is the decal for the Bockscar, however this was not on the aircraft when it completed its historic mission on 9 August 1945. The kit builds into an excellent model of either aircraft with detailed interior; undercarriage can be set up or down, also the bomb bay doors can be displayed open or closed. In summary a very well detailed and presented kit on these two historic aircraft in 1/72nd scale. A detailed guided to assembling and painting the models is included. Well done, Academy!
