Literally a mixed bag...
This, literally, mixed bag of models arrives in two small plastic bags, bags that are inside a single small brown cardboard box. The first bag consists of 25 transparent resin animals, all of which are well made, well coloured with a good random selection of animals. While not that realistic, this is a set of animals that will be great for loads of crafting projects, especially Easter gardens and bonnets. The second bag contains trees, like many cheap trees used in model railways these are made from a very soft plastic. A type of plastic that dislikes many forms of glue, so it's not surprising when on opening the bag and handling the trees loads of green flocking fell off. But that didn't bother me because the shades of green flock used is pretty garish and not very realistic. Plus I tend to re-cover model trees with more realistic model making scatter materials. To do that, while wearing a latex or nitrile glove, hold onto the trunk, Just so it doesn't get covered in leaves, now spray the tree with a strong flexible contact adhesive, something like carpet glue. Next, after leaving the glue to go tacky for a few minutes, either repeatedly dunk the tree into a shallow tub of model or sprinkle scatter on the tree. Just remember to keep rotating your tree to get a good even coating. Now gently tap off any excess scatter and leave the tree to dry overnight. As the trees don't have bases, they'll happily stand up straight when tapped into a block of styrofoam or clay. Finally spray the now dry trees with a few blasts of extra hold hairspray. This will blow off any excess scatter and also seal your new 'leaves' into place. To install a tree, either use a nail or drill a hole into your landscape. Then, with a dab of contact adhesive, secure the tree into place. For an extra touch of realism and to cover the glue up, simply scatter some static grass around the base of the trunk. Another thing to note is the size of the trees, this set doesn't contain any giant redwoods or mighty oaks, so not best suited for 1/32, 1/35 and 1/48 scales. Though the sizes are suitable for N gauge or HO/OO or 1/72-1/76. Overall ? Despite the odd mix of subjects, it's not a bad set, especially given the quantity of parts. Plus you get a lot of stuff for your 17 quid (at time of order) which isn't bad considering how much model trees usually cost.

Odd mix of resin toys and diorama trees
55 pieces, the trees look really good on my husbands diorama, he built himself some boards and buildings, car showrooms etc and wanted some bushes or trees to decorate the grassy areas with, these worked a treat! He drilled some small holes and just pokes them in and can take them out to be stored so they don't break. The vase of the trees are plastic, bush part is like a foam. It has lost bits as you can see on a tray, in a picture but for now still seem and look good. The animals are small and resin, glow in the dark too. To be honest, the animals do not match the set, the trees are great for dioramas but the animals are just a kids toy, so my daughter has those. It seems the price is about average, hubby was going to buy some trees that looked the same for about fifteen pounds. He's really pleased with the outcome, it looks great.
