Great for encouraging a newer swimmer.
My son is 5 and just started formal swim lessons a few months ago. He was pretty nervous about being in the pool at first, but these really helped him become enthusiastic about swimming. The rings are in a set of 6 different colors. They sink pretty well, although you need to give them a few seconds to sink down because they're not very heavy. The colors are bright and easy to spot in the water. They're a great way to encourage kids to learn how to blow bubbles and put their heads below water, and also how to kick and dive downwards. I feel that they really helped him become more confident in the water because he saw it as a game. At first, he'd get one ring at a time - now he'll dive down and see if he can get all 6 at once. He also likes to share with the other kids at the pool so they all practice together. I highly recommend for any kid who is learning to swim and work on their water confidence.

Fun for the pool
We purchased these to help my 4-year-old daughter practice some of the things she's learning during her swim instruction. Not only has she really improved with holding her breath, because of these, she's also becoming more confident swimming and diving in the deeper side of the pool. A great and inexpensive pool toy to not only help with technique but fun for play time as well.

Fun for pool!
Great diving rings for the pool - nice size, weight and quality. My son and his friends love diving for them and since they are different colors I can play games with them to dive for a certain color (per kid) or in a certain order.

Not classic dive rings
Classic dive rings are hard plastic and stand up for easy grabbing. These rings are not classic at all - instead they feel and look cheap. They are flexible, thin plastic rings with a slit around the entire thing to let water in (and therefore sink because air trapped inside might make them float). They lay flat on the bottom of the pool UNLESS you leave in those foam package material stuffed inside the rings. They also have a small diameter which will make them harder to pick up especially if they lay flat at the bottom of the pool. I also am worried mold will grow inside the rings so maybe I have to sterilize them regularly which is more maintenance than I wanted in dive rings. Overall, this is not something I would have bought for any price if I saw it in person. BUT they do work if you leave the packaging material inside the rings and they are not going to cause the head trauma the old rings used to = P

Nice product
These work as expected. They do sink, but do so somewhat slowly, allowing our newer swimmers to play with them as well as the more advanced kids. What wasn't expected was that they are sparkly. Maybe I missed this in the description, but at our house this was a fantastic surprise.

A must toy for the pool!! Great for adults and kids
We had just finished our pool last year and never got toys. Well these rings were on of the toys we bought this years and I must say these are the ones that the adults and kids used the most!!! Definitely great and don't melt on the extreme heat! Good size too and the colors are nice and vibrant!! There isn't one day in the pool without these rings. And it keeps u and the little one very active lol. A must buy for the pool!!

Overpriced and Not "Classic"
The poor review is primarily for the price. Essentially the same ones by Banzai are at Five Below for $3.50; I foolishly paid $9 even though this was the cheapest online option. Second, the packaging says "classic" dive rings. When I think "classic" I think those hard plastic ones that teach kids if you hit someone with it it hurts others. As a former swim instructors, I liked the real classic plastic ones which sink fast and used to teach kids to be careful when, where, and how they throw things. ;-) Apparently dive ring manufacturers are on the side of whiny parents who think everyone should help nanny their children. Lastly, you'll notice in the product photo there is an open seam in the rubber which I expect will be a mold collector. This is a gift, so I haven't used it and can't speak to durability or performance.

Works great
Our great grand-daughter not yet 5 loves throwing these into the pool and driving under to get them. At first it was only in the shallow area. Then she started advancing further down until she was in the deepest. She would say I can't and I'd tell her yes she could and after a few tries she could swoop down and pick up a couple and dive down to get the rest. Best purchase I've made for her - great pool investment.
