this is one product that does not have to work well. when you get a bargain it could be cheap. on the other hand it could be worth the money, in this case, it is worth the money. if this work crane never goes around the track that's o.k.. you can still use it for yard fill. all great model railroads are filled with life: people, places and things. if your budding railroad needs "life" or "things", this set will be a perfect addition to your yard or siding. be warned - this crane stands tall. be aware of low tunnels or overhanging landscape. allow a good 5 inches of overhead clearance. I did not. I say to my new crane "welcome to my yard." it will be in the company of spare cabooses and derelict rolling stock. happy railroading. regards uncle ralphie. p.s. it is a nice model with good looks. get the undecorated model and decal your own road name.

This turned out to be a great B-Day gift
This piece is period correct for the HO layout depicting the early 1950s. The idler car was a plus and the piece have the upgraded couplers that my father was looking for. The cabs of both units have already been repainted to match B&O color schemes for the era. This turned out to be a great B-Day gift.

This is a really nice HO addition
I'm rating this from my experience in buying a local piece not due to the fact mine arrived wet and damaged. It is a really nice addition as my little one already has the black one. The crane actually works by turning a key way. You can raise it and lower it as well as the boom. Yes, recommended.

I bought this item for my Nephew for Christmas, it's already open. It is sturdy and everything works on it, it's made out of metalI gave this iem five stars, it should of been more stars. The train car was something I would have like to keep but in was place under the heading "O Gauge Train Cars" in Amazon's listings, but the car was HO Gauge. In the description in small print at the bottom of the page it did read HO, which I missed.
