The Bachmann track is a good way to start a train set-up. It makes connections easier and I got the wider radius for my longer rolling stock.

Perfect for really long engines that would otherwise derail on the smaller radius tracks. I was constantly derailing my train on the 22 inch track. This totally solved the problem.
