Good play value
I bought this for my nephew’s 5th birthday. The box it comes in and ships in was plain, and only said Melissa and Doug on it so when my nephew opened it, he didn’t really know what it was, and of course it’s Un-assembled, so he wasn’t thrilled right away. His grandpa put it together for him and he loves it. There’s an instruction book that has directions for the things you can build, so for younger kids it does take some guidance if you want functional pieces that work. I love Melissa and Doug toys for their high play value, durability, quality, and most of all..no beeping or lights or batteries! My only complaints are the plain box, which is solved if you put the toy together or print out a picture if it’s for a gift and also the instructions left out the braces on the back of the legs so we had to refer back to a photo to see where the two extra pieces belonged. Highly recommend this toy!

Best workbench available
I looked at quite a few different workbenches before deciding on this one. Love everything about it. Love how it’s wood and comes with many pieces and an instruction book. You are able to follow the instructions and build many different things. Both my kids have been enjoying it so far aged 2 and 4.

Nice xMas present, but challenging to assemble
It was quite a challenge to put it together, the screws were not of best quality. The bench vice was difficult to screw on, and as a consequence one of the screws was messed up and we couldn’t tighten it further (or take it out) need to get a handyman to somehow remove it. Some if the parts didn’t align properly, but not visible. Our son tried the saw and saw blade, and some of the wood got splintered. Overall a nice Christmas present, but I don’t expect to last that long. Also considering to additionally paint with wood lacquer so we can clean and wipe it down better.

Schöne robuste erste Werkbank
Der Aufbau war einfach und schnell erledigt. Die Werkbank scheint sehr robust zu sein, wird die Dauer zeigen ob es auch so bleibt.

Very fun for 4 y/o
My son received this for his 4-year-old birthday and he had fun right away hammering and learning how to use the wrench to undo the nails. The set comes with a helpful guide on how to build different things -- mostly vehicles. They are a bit advanced for a 4 y/o but I'm sure this will be a toy that develops along with him. The parts it comes with are pretty good quality but I will say they don't stay tightened in place for too long. It would have been nice if the set came with "extras" for the tool pieces such as nuts and bolts and things used to make certain items. They seemed to give you the exact amount you need and we all know how little toys disappear. I'd recommend buying extra of these pieces if your kid really likes it.
