Great Nostalgic Reproduction Barbie, Nicely Done
The reproduction Barbie dolls just get better and better. If you bought the older reproduction American Girl Barbie dolls you know what I mean. The body is a huge improvement, and I really love how the knees snap on this one just like the original dolls. The face paint and hairstyle are very well done. The older repros had hair issues and some of the painted features were not as nice as this reproduction. This doll's hair has a lot of gel, but I combed it out and the hair still looked nice, not like some of the original dolls, lol. I'll admit I didn't get it for the outfit, but it looks like Mattel did a great job with the details like the tiny buttons and loops, zipper, etc. It's made for adult collectors and not really a kid's toy so I'm not sure about the durability (or that kids would find this fun to play with). With a coupon I got this doll for under $40- that's an incredible price for such a well-made reproduction Barbie.

One of the best Reproduction American Girl Barbies to date! She is beautiful. The costume is great as well, but I bought multiples to use to display vintage Barbie fashions. Much better price than the original hard to find in great shape original AG Barbies! No matter the reason you are buying it you won't be disappointed and the it's well worth the price! If you don't like the gelled hair just wash it out or gently comb it a few times.

A lovely reedition of a classic!
A good doll at a good price. Her hair is cut in a short bob and hard gelled into place, so you can easily put or remove the astronaut helmet. If you want the hair to feel like hair, to be softer, and to be able to style it, just shampoo the hair a few times in tepid water and the gel will come off. That's what I did for mine and it still looks fine with the helmet on. She's got an older body type, the type that has a very defined waist, although it does not rotate at the waist. Her costume is adorably retro, although not flashy. I appreciate that the designers didn't try to glam up or make girly scientific equipment. The accents are made of pleather, which will delaminate over time. I'd keep it out of direct sunlight. If you take the outfit off, she'd look cute in a fit and flare sundress. She comes with an American flag, but there's no way for her to hold it. Her hands aren't set to grab and the gloves don't have a way to secure the flag. I would advice against using tape, as it'll damage the pleather over time and become brittle. Box is ok, it protected the product well. The vintage art is cute.

Beautiful Reproduction Doll!
Stunning, beautiful reproduction doll! Bill Greening (designer) outdid himself with this one. The quality is outstanding, very soft canvas material, gloves and boots are accurate tho the og boots had working zippers. That's a minor detail however. The hair/makeup are very close to how the og american girl barbie looked. There is a ton of gel in the hair so if you debox her (like me) you will need to wash the gel out as it's helmet hair lol. Also of note the helmet easily slips on and off do not try to pry it apart (I've seen some YouTubers doing this in their reviews) it could break if you do. All the little details in the outfit, flag and helmet are top notch. She is well worth the price, get her while you can!

Perfect doll! Recommended!
I'm the kind of collector that likes to de-box my dolls to display and resytle them, but when my astronaut repro Barbie arrived I decided she was too perfect to take out of her box- this literally never happens to me but she looks SO perfect in there. haha.. I will probably take her out eventually but I think the $55 price tag for this doll is extremely reasonable and she looks like the quality of the dolls that used to be made back in the day. Her outfit is detailed and very well made from what I can tell, and her faceup is flawless! I an so glad I took a chance on her. Turns out Mattel can still deliver!

2025. Vs 2009
A beautiful doll. The boots were a bit disappointing. The 2009 version was a direct copy of the 1965 version. The boots on this new version are just molded plastic instead of having real zippers. The doll is much prettier than the 2009 version

Mercury Mission Space Suit Barbie? Yes Please!
Anyone who is buying this doll probably cares about the retail box. Most of us don't plan on taking the doll out of the box. So I am knocking off one star because mine was thrown in a box that was allowed to bounce around and a corner of my doll box was dented. Other than the small damage, the doll itself is great. I love the outer packing, the backdrop artwork, and the doll looks better after you remove the plastic thing over her head holding the hair in place.
