Item is very cute and brightly colored but the play doh gets stuck in the ice cream maker and does not come out in the shape of the plastic mold.

Fun, but get the real doh
This is a fun Barbie themed twist on the typical play-doh extruder sets. The dough isn't as nice as the name brand, but is serviceable. The quality of the set itself is a little lacking - the white paint on the top of mine was kind of uneven and sloppy looking, and it doesn't come with the decals installed. Still, it's not a bad option for an inexpensive pre-school birthday gift. Scooping Up Fun with the Barbie Softee Dough Ice Cream Playset!
My toddlers are obsessed with the Barbie Softee Dough Ice Cream Playset! They absolutely love pretending to be Barbie running their own ice cream shop. The included ice cream maker is a huge hit - they get so excited to crank out colorful swirls of "ice cream" dough. While yes, the dough can get a little messy (toddler life!), it's honestly the kind of mess you don't mind cleaning up because they're having so much fun. They use their imaginations to create all sorts of yummy-looking treats, and the included cones, cups, and toppings add to the fun. It's more than just pretend play, though. This playset helps develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they use the press and molds. Plus, it sparks their creativity as they come up with all sorts of ice cream concoctions. Even though the Barbie theme is cute, this playset is really great for any toddler who loves to get creative and make a little mess. It's a guaranteed recipe for fun!

Would give it 4 Starts for the Set Itself, but…
It’s one heck of a bummer for your kid to discover that 3/4 of the Play-doh is too hard to use, ON CHRISTMAS MORNING.
