Cute and fun!
I couldn’t resist getting this Barney plush for my daughter since I grew up watching him, and she’s really into singing toys right now. It’s soft, cuddly, and the size feels just right for a toddler. It’s easy to hug and carry around without being oversized. The songs and phrases are surprisingly clear, and the volume is loud enough to enjoy without being overwhelming. The songs are cheerful and upbeat, and my daughter lights up every time she presses the belly to start the music. The stitching and fabric feel sturdy enough to handle daily squeezes, and the electronics inside don’t feel flimsy. It runs on two AAA batteries (which are included and easy to replace), so I’m not worried about it becoming a short-lived toy. One funny surprise is that Barney’s voice has changed. It’s definitely not the classic voice we remember from the ’90s, which caught me off guard at first. My daughter doesn’t notice or care at all, she still hugs him, dances along, and sings right with him. Overall, this plush strikes a nice balance of nostalgia for parents and excitement for kids. It’s well-made, fun, and something my daughter goes back to again and again.

Great for the Barney-loving kid in your life
This is a well-made Barney toy for the Barney-loving child in your life. THe color is vibrant and it works well. I do think it is pricey for what you get, but if you can get it on sale, it's worth it. The battery-life seems good, but we haven't used it very long so we shall see.

Pretty Lame
The toy itself is fine, but I think this new barney is dumb. The voice is annoying, and the various music pieces aren't very engaging in my opinion. I would skip this and find something a bit more interesting that doesn't encourage talking like Barney in 2025, because the voice is really annoying and sounds like that patrick from spongebob but like dumber.

It's a bright purple Barney that sings, what's not to love?!
I just got this Barney plush for my kid, and it’s such a cute little buddy! The soft fabric and bright purple color immediately caught his attention he’s been hugging it nonstop. The embroidery details give it that classic friendly Barney vibe, and I like that it’s machine-washable for easy cleaning after playtime. It’s small enough for little hands to carry everywhere nap time, stroller rides, you name it . Overall, a solid plush that brings both nostalgia and comfort definitely four stars from me.

Absolute Disappointment
This is by far the most horrific version of Barney i’ve seen. The voice used sounds straight out of a horror film. I changed the batteries twice because I was convinced something was odd with the sound but it seems this is how this toy was made. I pushed the button more than 30 times and have yet to hear the classic "I Love You" which is why we bought this toy in the first place.

It's Barney - what's not to love?
Yes, it's Barney, but kind of a "baby Barney" version (think in the line of 'Baby Muppets'). Does it sound just like Barney as I remember? Not quite, but not too bad, in my opinion. Still an adorable toy, sized appropriately, cuddly, and with sound, including sing-along songs. You might want to know that the microphone he's holding is a hard plastic, so that makes it bit less of a "soft stuffy" toy as a whole. But it still seems a perfect gift for a toddler: the bright "Barney purple" color, the sound, and the Barney-ness of it all.
