The Batman Unlimited Dark Knight Returns figure is a must have. The articulation on this figure is great for a Batman of this style, though his legs, even after knowing how to pose them, are a little stiff, and I'm not a fan of the ball joints they used to connect his legs to his hips, though this is a minor complaint. The paint apps look great, and the dark, mustard colored tone of his belt pops from the rest of the figure despite being dim. The logo on his chest looks absolutely amazing, as does his super flared out, wide cape. The cape on this figure is one of my favorites for any Batman figure I own. It's made out of a rubbery plastic, but it seems stiff enough to not give in to bends or warping. The Batarang accessory that ships in the box is just as stylized to fit in with this Batman's universe. His hand holds the accessory well, and despite the articulation being relatively stiff, you can get a lot of good poses out of this figure due to the ab crunch, the great arm articulation, and the swivel head that can also move up and down. The sculpt itself on this figure is wonderful and detailed, and it's absolutely fitting for a Dark Knight Returns style Batman, and the smallest of details like the short gauntlet spikes are stylized to reflect Frank Miller's work. The head sculpt is awesome, but the paint apps on the head are a little less detailed than I would have liked. I really do love the head sculpt here, as it has almost an Adam West-like quality to it that conveys Batman's age during this comic, and the sculpt of the eyes in particular go for a more classic Batman quality, and it looks amazing. The paint app on this part of the figure is just a tiny bit lacking. Though the paint apps may be a bit lacking for some, but the shading used on his body, and particularly on his legs, looks great. It's a simple design that worked well and compliments the source material. This is a wonderful, bulky Batman figure, and despite being as bulky as he is, he doesn't look anywhere near as ridiculous as the DC Direct TDKR figure. For my money, this is absolutely the Dark Knight Returns Batman figure to have. It's worth noting that the package and the box this figure shipped in somehow got wet from the rain while shipping. The figure itself was fine, though, but for collectors that like to keep these in the box, you should always be wary of what you ship through the mail, as things like this tend to happen. Either way, the Batman Unlimited Dark Knight Returns figure is awesome, and I'd say it's a must have for fans of the comic.
