Fun puzzle that is well built and challenging. Conversation piece.
Neat Puzzle. I gave one to Mumsy for Christmas, and she made me solve it. I wanted the fun of watching her figure it out. This is an interesting conversation piece as well as having entertainment value ( as a puzzle ). Well made. Fits tight. If you think about it, this puzzle solves by logic, so while difficult for kids/adults, it shouldn't be impossible. The most important thing with any puzzle or any riddle is to not let the puzzle get the best of you, and in this case, that means letting our emotions out in frustration is of no value, whilst staying calm, studying the parts, thinking about it, observing everything. In the problem lies the solution. Oh, as far as this being called a "coaster puzzle", any coffee mug I know of would be larger than the size of this puzzle ( in the solved state ), so I would caution people that want it as a coaster... It isn't going to work for anything but tea cups that should have their own saucers in any case. So, 5 stars on the puzzle part of the description, 0 stars for the coaster part, but this could be a language ambiguity. I bought it to be an interesting gift and a cool puzzle that you didn't have to be at a table to be tinkering with, and for this, it is really cool, and is a lot of fun. The solution is also something that may help young minds ( or older ones as well... ) develop a facility for abstraction, which, like solving puzzles, is a valuable reasoning skill with application in life and in work.

One of the very best Hanayama puzzles!
This is an excellent puzzle, and one of my very favorites from those in the Hanayama line (I own several of them.) It's very solid, and looks great. The goal of these puzzles generally is to dismantle it and then put it back together. In this case, that first half happens in 1 second with very little effort, so the actual challenge is to put it back together. There is no "gimmick" or hidden information as you'll see in some of these puzzles. All information is just right there and you can use some combination of trial and error, tinkering, and logic to solve it. It's very satisfying when it "clicks" into place upon finding the solution. No, it's not the hardest challenge, but it's fun to tinker with, display, and share with others once you know how to solve it.

Very fun
I am a beginner but finished this within an hr. Very fun design. It’s cool that you can use it as a coaster. Cool to just have on your desk and share with others. The quality of the puzzle is nice and sleek

Fun and Challenging Puzzle
Very high quality made puzzle. Probably takes about 2 seconds to take apart and then much longer figuring out how to put it back together. Very challenging and can be used as a coaster!

What a cool little puzzle.
What a cool puzzle. I love that it's so straightforward, yet so complicated. It took me about 30 minutes to get it back together, it was challenging, but without being the kind of frustrating that has you banging your head against the wall. I think their rating of difficulty 4 out of 6 is right. It's really a charming little puzzle, I really enjoyed it, and they're inexpensive, so certainly worth every penny. Seems like the perfect stocking stuffer kind of gift.

Neat little brain teaser can be used as a coaster
I do a lot of Hanayama puzzles. This one is cool because it can use it as a real coaster once it is reassembled. It's neat to use it as a coaster for a friend and then you can take it apart and see if your friend can put it back together. Either way it's fun and and practical. A real joy to accomplish. Makes a good conversation piece. Of course it's very well made but not as thick as some of the other cast puzzles from Hanayama. That may have more to do with the type of metal used for this type of puzzle. For that reason I've removed one star as I feel like it is flimsy. It doesn't have the hefty that I'm used to with my other Hanayama's.

Deceptively Hard puzzle.
When I got this puzzle I was pleased with the depth of the metal rings. It looked much thinner in the pictures....anyway, it came apart pretty easily for me. I converted the "coaster" into three interlocking rings in under five minutes. It took me about four hours to put the darn thing back together! I've repeated the process multiple times now. The reasssembly "trick" is merely a process of putting a puzzle together(not an easy puzzle mind you...). This is a Really good puzzle!!! It is of sturdy construction, is the perfect size to fit in your pocket, and it's mindbogglingly complex. Plenty of replayability.

Nothing negative to say about it. It is challenging enough that my husband can't solve it haha.
