Great, lightweight cape!
I bought this to wear for a Handmaids costume. The color is great, a beautiful royal red. It is lightweight and worked great considering it was 76 degrees outside. If held up to the light, you can see through it. I used a safety pin to keep the hood tighter on my head (pinned under the chin) and that worked perfectly - the hood never came off. I’m 5’6” tall and it was the perfect length as I wasn’t stepping on it. I didn’t have any issues with ripping. I got lots of compliments on it. I’ll save it and wear it for a Little Red Riding Hood costume in the future. Verdict: I recommend this cape if you want a lightweight cape.

Good for the price!
Worked really well for a Red Riding Hood photoshoot. Also planning to use it for Halloween as a Handmaid's Tale costume. I wore this for a photo shoot on a 85°F day. While it was hot, it was manageable for short periods of time. I am 5ft and it was definitely trailing on the ground by 4+ inches, but i dealt with it. The quality is great, for the price. I would definitely order more colors from this brand. However, I have two complaints. 1) the string is super flimsy, as others have noted. I definitely see myself needing to repair it at some point in the future. 2) It SMELLS AWFUL. Straight out of the box it had the nastiest smell. I aired it out for a few days prior to the shoot, but the smell stuck around. I don't think it is machine washable, so ill either need to hand wash or just deal with the smell. But all in all? For the price, not bad.

Full length, medium weight, tie at neckline, shiny almost crushed velvet feel
We would recommend these cloaks. We bought several of these to add to our costumes. They have a nice medium weight to them. They are not flimsy or to thick and heavy feeling. We wore them for an event and they still look brand new. They are not overwhelmingly hot for summer. The hood is a generous size so it went easily over each of our hairstyles even with flowers. They are shiny. We bought a green, red, white and blue one. The green one is a little less shiny. You can tell that they are not real velvet, but they still look very nice. The red is more of a bright red not deep or burgundy. Myself and my children are under 5’5 so it gently glided along the ground.
