Great train set but our smart tunnels do not work
Easy to assemble but the smart tunnels simply do not work which is disappointing since this was the main reason we went for a this set. We’ve searched high and low online and on the Brio website and there are no trouble shooting or work arounds. As a train set it is great but the smart tech does not work. Disappointing especially for this price and for a product from such a highly respected company.

Kind of a piece of junk.
Set this up for my toddler for Christmas and many disappointing aspects. First, there is no sound made by the engine, so the speaker must be broke. Second, it is not even able to climb the supplied ramp with anything but the engine. Third, the railway switches do not click in place and cause the train to derail. Wow! For this kind of money, I thought we would be getting something top notch. This will for sure be going back and I do not know if I will trust brio train sets again.

Overpriced, sensor fault
Easy to assemble, really cool concept, I wish it worked for all brio trains and not just the train that comes with it. Also our sensors have stopped working, so now the train doesn’t follow any of the cues. It’s abit overpriced.

Angry Husband, Sad Kid
If you like having a frustrated husband and crying kid, this is the toy for you! With train and sensors that work for a limited time, and a multi-download process for an app that never comes full circle, this adventure brings disappointment to the entire family! Why get a manual train that your child has to drag across a track when you can pay extra for an electronic one that barely works?

The train won’t hold a battery.
This was an expensive purchase and I was really excited. I bought it and saved for my son’s bday. The train will hold brand new, name brand batteries for only a couple of minutes before it dies again so in turn it ends up being like any other brio set and none of the fancy features work. I would not waste your money.

Glad I chose to ignore the bad reviews
The smart tech train set is exactly as I hoped. It works for about a day of light play on a set of normal batteries. I would say that might be under powered but seen as the normal battery powered trains far exceed expectations I think this one is closer to expected. It works great and for one month it has only missed a smart tunnel signal once. I thought by the reviews that these might be poor and hit and miss with the signals but they work fine until the battery is low and the train turns the receiver off and turns it's lights to red, which is after hours of play. Maybe if it was going constantly it might be a few hours. A pack of loads of normal batteries is cheap and every parent will be familiar with how many batteries get used up by their toys. I will say I have not tested rechargeable batteries but take it from what Brio say that they are no good for this due to the power needed so avoid rechargeable batteries. I am so glad I got this our son loves it.

Trop bien ! Application mobile bof!
Super ! De qualité et la loco monte les pentes tranquillement ! L’application mobile est nulle car on passe déjà pas mal de temps à déchiffrer le fonctionnement ! Ensuite, le téléchargement des sons met un bail! Enfin, on a pas tous les arrêts forcément dans la boite donc, ça insiste à acheter plus de composants…. Le gamin est trop petit (3-4 ans) pour commander la loco avec la tablette ou le portable… on peut commander les vitesses (avant arrière) et les lumières.. Dans l’ensemble, c’est un très bon jouet! Vu le prix, y a intérêt également !

Excellent
Nous avons commandé ce train pour les 5 ans de mon fils et nous en sommes vraiment très content. Tout est qualitatif, il y a plein de petits détails. Depuis nous avons racheté des rails et accessoires de la même marque car il ne s arrêt plus de jouer. On peut enregistrer la voix de l enfant sur la tablette pour l entendre quand le train passe sous les bornes Juste prévoir des piles rechargeables pour le train ! Je recommande
