What you get is one long piece of black netting with on the top edge the feathers sewn on and then a black soft ribbon folded over and sewn in place to keep the feathers in place and provide a soft edge against your skin. Sounds okay? The feathers look nice and there is a mix of black and also the slightly irridiscent green/black. I also like that you get the shiny black feathers which are longer, forming the bottom layer and then on top of these are shorter fluffier feathers. At the two ends the black ribbon continues in a narrower form for you to tie together. The problem is, that the whole thing is much too long, so when you tie the two ends of ribbon together, it's massively bigger than a normal neck size so instead of fitting around your neck and fanning out over your shoulders like on the model in the picture, it is more of a loose shawl and not the effect you would be expecting from the picture advertising it. Very disappointing. If your needlework skills are up to it, you could probably cut it to size and re-finish the edges because the feathers really are great, but it's just a shame it's not right already.
