4 Years and still wearing this costume...
We got this for our son when he was 5. He is now 9 and still this costume is in fair condition. He has worn it for 4 years for Halloween and played outside in it. It is still in not to bad a shape for what it has gone through. I am shocked that he is still able to wear this. I thought he would out grow it fast. The pants and suspenders are nice. We can adjust them each year and they still fit him. The jacket was a bit large, but he is growing into it nicely now. We got his hat and tools at Wal*Mart in the boys costume section years ago. Not sure if they still have them now. They work well with this costume. The only thing I can complain about is the yellow strips. They frayed really bad and started to come apart. That is the only complaint I have. I am looking into sewing new ones on this year with a better fabric. So if you do get this, look into using some fray glue or sew new ones on. The sewing is all still intact. I can not see one hole anywhere or any sewing that has come apart. The zipper still works and so do the front clips. It said to hand wash. This is the first year I washed it in my front loader on delicate. It is still all together (even the yellow strips but they frayed more, which I knew was going to happen). All stains have come out. I can not complain much about a costume that has lasted for 4 years. Especially after the first one that was made of cheap vinyl and lasted the one night. I did give this 5 stars due to how long it lasted and the fact that the yellow strips are all still on. We will see... maybe next year it will still fit and he will still want to be a fireman.

Super Cute
I am impressed, and so is my four year old we purchased it for. It looks like "the real thing". It seems very well made, though I haven't washed it yet, it seems sturdy. I purchased a larger size as I read other reviews that said it ran rather big. I found this not to be the case for my average sized son, but he will grow into it, and can still wear it now. It's a little hard to fasten and unfasten the clips on the coat, I hope this gets easier with use. The hat was a little cheap, but overall, it's a great gift.

Nice costume, not so nice helmet
Adorable costume, bought for my two year old son to wear for Halloween. Decent quality, except the hat is a bit flimsy and large, will probably keep the helmet around for day to day dress up use. Ordered a different helmet to go with the costume because of the other reviews about this one and am glad I did.

DO NOT WASH PRIOR TO WEARING!
Great looking costume. My son looked adorable in this for Halloween and we got so many compliments (even from real firemen). I read some other reviews before purchasing this, and saw several people complaining about the quality. I usually wash clothing (even brand new) before letting my kids wear them, but decided against it just in case the reviews were right. I am SO glad I did. I washed it the day after Halloween and I'd say close to half of the yellow stitching came off. Also, I would recommend getting a different helmet (we ended up getting a plastic one at Party City). Some of the other reviewers complained about it and I will too. It's made out of a thin, flexible. foam-like material that would probably be better used for packaging. It's folded to fit into the costume package, so it never really looks or fits right. The sticker they have on the front was peeling from the start too. For the price I paid, I would've liked to see better quality, but I was kind of expecting it (due to the heads up provided by previous reviews). It was great for one night, and as a play costume around the house after that. Oh, and it doesn't come with props or boots.

Very dissappointed
We received this well packaged but there are suspenders on the pants and both front rivets were already broken and not able to be fixed very cheesy material and made..We was completely cracked and very heart broken we bought this for our local Head Start kids and now I'm in search of something a little better! We ordered a small the pants were long and very straight and narrow the coat without a doubt would be too small.... Maybe break down the price and sell the pieces separately...

Terrible
Very poor quality The stitching is fraying after 1 wear for a very short time. I have previously tried to return an inferior product with no success! It is easy to shop. However, it is impossible to return an inferior of defective item.

Genuine!
My great nephew was so pumped that he looked like a real fire fighter. The hat did not really do well in shipping and we did have to go out and purchase a different fireman's hat. That was the only drawback! The pants and jacket were great!
