It is a great flyer, and small in size (33 1/4" wing span)
It was put together in a few hours. Manual was not too clear on some items of assembly, but experience helped the process. Manual calls to set up timer for 4 minutes and on my first flight I did 5 minutes and after landing I had 70% left on my 2200 mah 4S battery. On the horizontal tail I used Epoxy and not what the manual asked (CA glue). I did not used the flying wires as they do not make the model better or more durable. I installed the retainer pins of the cabane, but I used "hot glue" to keep them in place. My first flight I used the "safe" set up and it was great, after a couple of minutes I switch the "safe" off and it flew very well. I did rolls and loops without any issues. Great little plane to handle in the air. I only used half throttle most of the times and it was good. Landing was after 4.5 minutes and it was great too. Battery still had 70% power left. On my second flight I adjusted my radio timer (DX-9) to 8 minutes and 20 seconds. Enjoyed this flight more than the 1st flight and was relaxed. Did some aileron trimming and elevator trimming too. After 8 minutes I landed the plane and still had 30% left. Can wait to fly it again this coming weekend. It is not a beginning airplane, but if you have flown a low wing plane, this is for you. Very inexpensive plane to fly and a ton of fun to fly.

Know how to fly good first
Beautiful plane. Easy to put together. Not for a novice. Love safe flight for first few flights. Definately need to get used to before trying tricks. Had an issue with one servo. Waiting on horizon for response. Follow-up, Horizon replaced broken servo with new one. Easy to exchange in wing just needed hot glue. Follow up: having issues with esc and receiver. Brow out issues that has caused 2 crashes. Horizon making me send both for testing but no reaching out to make up for their problem causing my plane destruction. Not happy right now with Horizon. Update: Horizon sent new receiver and now its an awesome plane to fly. Looks a little beat up due to bad original receiver, but will now do anything you ask of it in the air. Glad I persisted with this plane as I love the way it flys.

excellent airplane but not for biginners
excellent scale model and flight performance. handy size to transport. Dont recommend as a first plane but once comfortable with a trainer anyone should be able to fly it. Bi planes are a little tricky on takeoff and landings. This is not a toy but a serious flying model airplane

First eflite dud I've ever had
Got back in the hobby at the beginning of 2023. Got my ama and joined a club. Purchased multiple planes this year. Valiant, Habu 50 and 1.2 t28 before I bought the pitts 850. I was doing well. Still no crashes or major issues. I bought the pitts 850 and as usual I treated it like a newborn. Took it to the club and we all got it ready to maiden making sure we assembled the aircraft well and set it up properly. I took off and it flew well gaining altitude and circled back and it started cutting out on me. I was lucky enough to land and checked the feedback from the remote and I had 6 holds and 1350 fades which is very bad. I still don't know how I got it back in one piece. Upon inspecting further inside the machine I see the esc is not secure (loose) and the antenna has a cut in it. I've tried to reach out to the seller/manufacturer to see if I could get a new receiver but haven't heard back yet. The club members all said it's the receiver and none of my other planes have an issue so I'm certain that's it as well. Hoping this company makes this right because I would love to buy more eflite planes in the future.

Probably not the best first biplane.
It looks great and I’m sure flies great if it’s setup right. It’s not my first plane but I figured with the SAFE on it would be fine to get as my first biplane. I’m not sure if it wasn’t trimmed right or what, but as soon as it took off I could tell it flew way different than what I expected. I don’t have a plane with SAFE on it and maybe that was the issue. I just couldn’t climb. Other controls seemed fine and the elevator was working on the ground. I was trying to keep it in the air long enough to land back down but on the first turn it started dropping. I was full up elevator and it didn’t seem to work. Just thought I’d mention to look for something different if you want a first biplane. Not sure if it was me flying it, not setting it up right, but my planes in about 7 pieces after a 20 second flight, so I’ve got a lot of parts to order and try to repair this.

One of my favorites!
This plane is amazing in my opinion. It will do just about anything you throw the sticks at. I have even cartwheel this thing on a landing and not one thing broken or misaligned except maybe the spinner I had to readjust and the top of rudder has a little wrinkle. Overall a solid plane!

Not toy (for kids under 27ish)
Delicate. Do not expect durability, that will last inexperienced pilot. This will last years and plenty of responsible flights. Nice detail easy to fly for the right pilots. One of my favorite plane's.
