A perfect pen for its' price
Pairing an ebonite feed with a somewhat flexible steel nib gives a smooth writing experience, making the P140 a very wet writer. Also, the brass filling mechanism balances the pen so that it is not tiring for the hand on long writing sessions, even if the pen is heavy (in comparison with a MB 149). I definitely recommend it for writing enthusiasts.

Solid pen. Weird nib.
Solid pen. A surprisingly wet writer, though I need to test it with different inks for a fairer assessment. The nib was an odd experience though. Occasionally hard-starting, and a feeling when writing that was more like resistance/drag than feedback. I bought a replacement nib from Amazon.com (only available from US), and it improved things a lot. There seems to be a lot of inconsistency between nibs of the same size, so these pens can be a bit of a dice roll. 3 stars for the original purchase. (Replacement nib would bring it to 4 stars.)

Great Value and Beautiful Pen
I have become something of a fountain pen collected of late. I always use them now as writing with a fountain pen is so satisfying and is also helping to improve my handwriting. The Mahjohn P-140 is a superb fountain pen if you like a larger nib (No 8) and a broader diameter body. The piston filling system works so well and is mess free compared to some other inking systems. The ink capacity is far greater than most pens and so you spend less time inking and more time writing. The ink flow is good, although mine is a medium nib and so puts down plenty of ink on the paper. Quite a wet writer so you do need good quality paper to prevent soak through. The balance in the hand is excellent and whilst it posts well I leave the cap off in use as this is a large pen and the balance does get thrown off posted. I love this pen which in my opinion is much better than many pens twice the price or more. It has quickly become my favorite pen in my collection. The clear acrylic is amazing quality and resists scratching very well. Being able to see the reservoir is also helpful. My photos show it with Lavender ink in the reservoir. Highly recommended.

I feel this pen should be awarded The Chinese Pen Of The Year! It's FABULOUS!
Just received my new pen and it's fabulous. The build is excellent. After flushing it and drying for awhile I inked it with Diamine's Celadon Cat ink. Is easy to fill with the smooth piston feed. I did have to use an ink miser as the No 8 nib was a bit big to fit into the small, sample Diamine bottles. Don't expect that to happen with full size ink bottles. Now to the writing - of the 5 different pens I own it's the smoothest writing pen. It just glides across the paper! Nice and juicy ink flow with no skips or hard starts. My pen has the fine nib and with the ebonite feed it writes like a dream! I also ordered a set of the fine and medium nibs to go with it which haven't arrived yet. This is a beautiful pen I'd normally expect to pay 3 times as much for. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. As to size and weight, it's a bit heavier than my other pens, but oh so comfortable to write with.
