Quality Toys! Extremely Pleased!
My two year old granddaughter received a new kitchen set from her great Aunt at Christmas. We got her the kitchen starter accessories and other play food from Hape to go along with it. She loves it all! We never dreamed she would take to play cooking the way that she has, but it is so cute! She spends so much time playing in her new kitchen! She cooked and served the family all Christmas Eve! The quality of the items from Hape could not be better! I love the attention to detail (like the salt and pepper shakers making noise) and the pretty green leaf lettuce. She's learned to toss and serve a salad. I believe I may be having as much fun as she is having! Thank you Hape for making quality toys for our littles! I see more Hape toy purchases in our future!

Amazing quality
This is honestly the best purchase I made for my little ones kitchen. They’re not so small but also not to big and heavy. My baby loves playing with them and it’s also very aesthetically pleasing. The wood is amazing quality, doesn’t chip or break. Safe enough for play too!

This is a great set. We purchased this to go along with the Hape kitchen set (which we found used at a thrift shop). The pieces are well made and sturdy. I also like that they are wooden. This design encourages the imagination. Our girls ages 1-7 each enjoy playing with these items in different ways. I would highly recommend this set, especially to compliment the Hape kitchen set. We haven't been disappointed in any Hape toy we have purchased this far.

Great set
This is a really great set. The salt and pepper shakers make noise when you shake them (not a cheesy noise) and the quality is great. My 5 and 2 year olds are hard on their kitchen toys but these hold up great. Buying another set for extras.

I really want to be in love with this set
I really want to be in love with this set. I bought if for my 18 m.o. daughter and am finding that I am not feeling so 'free' about how she plays with it. In all fairness I just didn't really think it through. I prefer wood to plastic for many reasons, but I find that I don't really want her to get it wet or put actual food it it because it seems like the kind of thing that you can never truly get clean. (I've had this experience with wooden cutting boards). For some families this may not be an issue, but we have our daughters kitchen set up in our actual kitchen and she is always dumping her water, smoothies, etc. into her kitchen toys. I may just be kind of control freaky but I don't even want her to touch the salt and pepper shakers with her dirty hands. (she loves loves loves them and wants to have them with her when she eats)...but I do let her and then give them a good wipe asap. These pieces are not finished, I think, which in regard to toxicity is great...but if you are interested in actually getting them wet and clean it poses a problem. I'd say if you are purchasing this with no intention of getting it dirty or wet then it is a 5 star purchase. Also, these are definitely not (and don't claim to be I imagine) dishwasher safe. Our nanny didn't really think it through and ended up washing the ladle and the pot in the dishwasher and they COMPLETELY FELL APART, as in they warped and came totally unglued. (with only one wash). So don't make the mistake that we did. We are now left with only half a set. That being said...my daughter really loves it and play(ed) with the pot and pan often...and is just starting to get interested in the spatula. I will probably look for BPA free recycled/green material for future purchases. I claim full responsibility for our oversights though and continue to think Hape is a really great company with good products.

Pots are small, but super cute wooden utensils
So beautiful and cute! The salt and pepper shakers make little noise and the plates feel so durable and soft. The pots are a lot smaller than other play pots and pans that I’ve purchased, so it doesn’t fit all of my daughters play foods. I’m happy with the aesthetic of it all and more so bought it for the plates, silverware, and salt and pepper shakers. So I’m happy with the purchase!

An Instant Hit!
My son is 2 years old. He loves to play kitchen. Unfortunately, kitchen toys are expensive, and I am cheap! I also hate having too many plastic toys in the house. I searched a long time for good, wooden kitchen toys, and debated whether to buy any at all --thinking he would just play with the odds and ends from our own real kitchen-- but I finally broke down and ordered this set for him. I am so glad I did. My son is very glad, too! We opened the package in our front entryway and he immediately started playing with this set, right there on the floor! We played with it for a looooong time, like 20 minutes. In 2-yr-old terms, that is a miraculously long time. He was so happy. These seem well made to me. The wood is smooth and the joints are all neat and tidy. The wood has an interesting citrus-like scent to it. It tastes horrible--my son actually put the fork in his mouth while we were "eating dinner," and I don't think he will try that again. My only complaint is the heart motif on the plates. Yes, the heart is the brand logo, however... Do we really need three pink hearts on each plate? It makes them look very effeminate, whereas the rest of the pieces are wonderfully gender neutral. I will definitely consider more Hape kitchen toys in the future. For now, my son is very happy throwing dinner parties for all his stuffed dogs!

A quality product that my kids love
My kids enjoy using these pieces to cook their food in and then also to serve at their little table. The pieces are sturdy and look great in their little kitchen. The salt and pepper shakers are my favorite because when you shake them they have something in them that moves and makes it sound like there really is salt and pepper in them. I have a 19-month-old and an almost 3-year-old and they both enjoy playing with these pieces and I can see them playing with them for quite a few years in the future.
