A Beautiful Puzzle

Super Rätzelbox zum Knobeln. Sehr hochwertig.

kniffelig und wirklich cool!
Mein erster Würfel und vermutlich nicht der letzte... Erinnert an das Handyspiel "The Room" nur eben mit Stonehenge. Der Cube wird in einer stabilen Magnetbox gut verschweißt geliefert, lässt auf jeden Fall vermuten, dass der Inhalt ebenso wertig ist - zu Recht. Sobald man den Würfel aus dem Karton gehoben hat, ist man eigentlich schon direkt am Abtasten, Drehen und Wenden - eine grobe Rahmenhandlung gibt's im beiliegenden Hochglanzfolder, doch die gibt keine Hinweise zur Lösung des Würfels preis (Hinweise zu jedem Rätsel gibt es über einen QR-Code). Dann geht es auch schon los - genau betrachten, schieben, überlegen, drehen, rütteln ... ich möchte nicht zu viel verraten, denn wer Escaperooms mag, wird hier auf jeden Fall Spaß dran haben, sich hinein, statt hinaus zu rätseln. Die Verarbeitung ist wirklich wertig, keine abgeplatzten Kannten oder ähnliches, die Aufdrucke sind deutlich lesbar. Bei einigen Mechanismen darf man durchaus auch mit gefühlvoller Robustheit rütteln oder ziehen, da bleibt alles heil, obwohl die Mechanismen wirklich sehr filigran ausgearbeitet sind. Ob alleine oder in überschaubarer Gesellschaft, macht es Spaß sich damit auseinander zu setzen und immer wieder eine neue Luke freizuarbeiten, bis man das Rätsel gelöst hat... Cool auch, dass sich der Würfel wieder rekonstruieren und weiterverschenken lässt (es gibt eine "Reset-Anleitung": und das ist für mich die Geschenkidee: Wer das letzte Rätsel gelöst hat, legt einen kleinen Innenraum frei, in dem sich ein kleines Präsent verstauen lässt, mindestens aber ein gefalteter Gutschein mit dem man jemandem noch eine weitere Überraschung bereiten kann, DAS finde ich sehr cool! Klare Empfehlung!

A story, a puzzle, and a mystery - great interactive fun!
This puzzle box is really cool! You can tell that a lot of time and effort was put into designing and assembling this escape box. I had a lot of fun solving it. The parts all move really well, and it’s challenging enough that it feels like an accomplishment to solve, but not so challenging that you need to look at the solutions to figure it out. The box is a nice size so you can solve it and then gift it to somebody with cash or a gift card or whatever in the center part. I did have some issues with our box with the wizard being lodged in the elevator when I got to that point, and I was afraid of breaking him in the process of getting him out. He did not break, but it did take a while for me to dislodge him. However, everything else worked really well without any issues. In addition to a storybook with a QR code that can help you with hints and solutions, they also give you a link to instructions to reassemble the box so that you can solve it again or gift it to somebody else to solve. After solving this box myself, we put money in the center and reassembled it and gifted it to the kiddo for her birthday. She really likes escape room type stuff, so she enjoyed the box (although she cheated on a few parts). Overall, this escape room in a box is a lot of fun. It also includes parts that go to other escape rooms in a box that they make for a greater puzzle. This is the only one we have gotten so I haven’t explored that at all, but I think this box is a good value since you can reassemble it and re-gift it for somebody else to solve. So really the box can just keep living on and getting regifted which is pretty cool. For this reason, even though it’s expensive, I do think it’s a good value for what you get.

Rätsel-Box, die Rätsel aufgibt und dazu führt, dass man die Rätsel aufgibt.
Kann man sich sparen. 1. Schon das erste Rätsel mit Blättern und Strichen schafft man nur mit Raten, weil sich keine Logik zwischen Strichen und Blättern erkennen lässt. Auch auf der Lösungsseite wird der Zusammenhang nicht klar. 2. Das Rätsel mit den beweglichen Mauerteilen ist selbst mit Lösung nicht zu schaffen, weil die Stellung einzelner Elemente, so wie die Lösung sie angibt, nur mit brachialer Gewalt hergestellt werden kann: manche sind leichtgängig, andere gehen halt nicht aneinander vorbei. Um die Klappe zu öffnen, braucht man einen spitzen Gegenstand, denn einzelne Elemente blockieren selbst in der Lösungsposition noch immer den Deckel. 3. Die beiden Rädchen auf der Mauerteile-Seite sind so schwerfällig, dass man die Zahnrädchen abbricht, wenn man sie mit einem Hilfsmittel zu bewegen versucht. (Die Logik der Kombination erschließt sich aus der Lösung übrigens auch nicht… Aber das kann man dann erraten.) 4. Dass man mit dem zugegebenermaßen schicken Metallschwert das danebenliegende Element rausnehmen kann, passiert per Zufall. Denn man weiß weder, in welche Richtung man das Schwert bewegen soll, noch dass es um das nebenliegende Element geht (das fällt halt, wenn man Glück hat, irgendwann raus…). 5. Die Logik der kleinen Box mit den Schiebereglern (wie alle anderen Logikrätsel) erschließt sich z.T. nur durch Raten (zwei Symbole findet man, die anderen beiden nicht). 6. Das mit den Stonehenge-Teilen ist ok und schlüssig, aber der Drehmechanismus ist nur was für starke Hände. 7. ach ja, auch die Zahlenräder mit den Grad-Angaben: nur per Raten gelöst bzw. wackelt man daran rum und merkt, wann sich Widerstände lösen. Bis man den Deckel öffnen kann. Fazit: Optisch ganz nett (etwas zu bunt im Vergleich mit den „normalen“ Rätselboxen… aber das ist Geschmackssache). Die Rätselmechanik und -logik waren mir tatsächlich ein Rätsel. Genauso wie die hilflose Lösung. Die Verpackung ist aber edel und aufwändig. Sprich als frustrierendes Geschenk für Personen, die man nicht mag, macht die Box schon was her…
