First of all, another reviewer said women aren’t suited for assembly work, which is absolutely ludicrous. I put this together in under two hours, and I say that as someone who assembles pretty much everything for my family, from furniture to toys. The instructions were incredibly clear, logical, and well-organized. The hardware came in labeled packages instead of a jumble of screws in a plastic bag. Step by step, everything made sense. I do have carpal tunnel, so manual screwing is tough for me. The pieces are lightweight, so you can use a drill/electric screwdriver, but you have to be gentle. I ran into only one problem when I got a little trigger-happy and over-tightened a screw on the burner—it broke the plastic, but it still sits firmly in place. Some parts were too close together for my drill, so I had to use a manual screwdriver. A big plus: there are no decals to place. Everything comes painted and attached, which is fabulous. I suggest assembling it close to where it will live because it’s heavy, and moving it afterward could stress the joints. Some reviewers say it’s heirloom-quality, but I strongly disagree. It’s sturdier than most “garbage from China,” but toddlers are rough, and the plastic latches on the refrigerator, oven, microwave, and washing machine could break if yanked. Also, the doors open left to right, while most U.S. kitchen doors open right to left, which isn’t a huge deal but it would be easy to pull to hard on the wrong side. The kids absolutely loved the ice maker and stovetop sound effects —the ice maker is their favorite. They were a bit disappointed in the fake cell phone because it makes no noise, but that’s a minor quibble. The Lazy Susan under the sink is hilarious—our grandkids crawl inside our full size lazy susan when they visit--now they have their own. We also set up an 8x10 area rug to make it feel like their own little kitchen play area in the basement. Overall, I can’t say enough good things about this kitchen. It’s easy to assemble, has enough features to keep kids entertained, and(it’s November 2025 as I write this) at just over $120, it’s a great value. I’m thrilled with it, and the kids are having a blast. IF I could give it more than five stars--I would.
