The details are amazing!
I love these so much! I received one for a gift and enjoyed building it from the beginning to end. The details were fascinating. Many of the pieces were so realistic. The build was challenging but not too difficult. The directions were easy to follow. It was the perfect size for my bookshelf, and made a very cute bookend. I now have multiple sets on my wish list!

Not the easiest build..:
This is the 3rd nook I’ve built by 3 different companies and my least favorite to build. I had to file a lot of the pieces to get them to fit into the slots, some of the printing on the designs was cheap looking and I had a hard time getting the stairs assembled due to ill fitting pieces. . Most of the instructions were ok, but some things didn’t make sense or the sequence should have been different. I did break more pieces taking them out of the boards than the other 2 combined. The glue they included was ok, but took forever to dry. Tacky glue works better. It’s not an easy one to assemble so if you are not good at fiddly bits or have larger hands you will have issue. Hope this helps the next person to make an educated decision.

Very cute book nook
I have put together a number of book nook kits, and this one is really very cute. It is whimsical and very detailed. I don't prefer book nook kits with printed images on the pieces, but that is a personal preference. The theme is really fun, and the parts fit together well. Some of the pieces are very challenging to assemble, but it is a fun little build. Overall, I do recommend this book nook.

5 star result, but instructions and construction frustrating.
Choosing the rating for this project was challenging for me. I built it. I absolutely LOVE the result, and I will happily be showing it off to visitors to my home as a beautiful display piece. The completed book nook is absolutely a 5 star item. The instructions and construction are why I’m not giving it a 5 star rating for its listing. First off, this is one of those kits where you REALLY want a set of decent pliers on hand because of how tightly the majority of the pieces fit. I could not have assembled the spiral staircase without them, nor would I have been able to assemble many of the other pieces together without pliers to provide that extra force my poor fingers couldn’t manage. The pieces make an audible squeak-like noise when in place, and it’s a lovely, tight fit that’s not likely to come undone, but it’s HARD to get them in without tools. Also note that not all pieces to assemble this tightly can be put in with pliers without damaging them. There’s a little ship model piece that I had to carefully wiggle in back and forth for a good half minute or so before it would go in place, because the top of it was too irregular to brace the pliers anywhere. It’s HARD to assemble. It’s also something where you really should have some wood glue on hand, yet they only provide super-glue. It’s nice super-glue, but it’s not going to work as well on wood and paper pieces as wood glue. Super glue also leaves spiderweb-like strands everywhere if you’re not very careful, so wood glue is an advantage there too. Personally, I also prefer to glue EVERYTHING down, not just what the instructions say to glue down, and wood glue works better on this too. Then there are the instructions. For the most part, the instructions are fine. However, there are several points where it will tell you to place structures inside the box and then ask you to place small items BEHIND them or ON them when it would have been easier to place them FIRST. In short, these are instructions where you DO need to read ahead if you want to make the process easier on yourself. On that same point, they give you exactly one birds-eye-view of the top floor when placing the stickers of the random pages. I strongly recommend you do that first for the ones that go on the floor, and then that can help you figure out where some of the other pieces go. This would have helped me with the gold-ribbon piece that I accidentally placed too far forward based on where I thought it was meant to go just from the instructions at that point. I ended up having to sand off part of one of the railings to make it fit instead because they were too close together. Whoops. It is a gorgeous piece, however, with very, very few errors in production. I had exactly one set of pieces printed/cut mirror what I needed, and I ended up grabbing a brown marker to color in the exposed wood to hide the issue. Overall, I love that I had the opportunity to build this, and I practically hissed at my husband when he hinted at bringing it to his office for display instead of keeping it at home for everyone to enjoy. Just note that you need to read ahead to make the instructions easier on yourself, and you will likely want pliers and wood glue to get through the assembly.

Fantastic!
I have built several book nooks now, and this one was great! The quality is there, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. This one was so detailed, and I just love how it all came together. The lights installed and worked just fine for me, and it is probably one of my favorite kits I've done. I would definitely try another kit from them. I worked on it on and off over several different nights, so I'm not sure how long it ended up taking, but it's not a race! Everything fit well together and it is very sturdy. Definitely give this one a try if you are thinking about it!
