Obsessed!
I am so happy I purchased this to teach my daughter about each of the basic salad items and reinforce her colors. But it also let me start showing her how to portion out food and count! As always, learning resources has the best food toys on the market. I highly recommend their products! They always use bright colors, the items are really durable and high quality material. They always ensure the sizes are proportional too. Each set I purchase comes well boxed and clean. Great value!!!

Play and Pretend essential toys, this company know what they are doing!
Learning resources products never fail to impress me. We purchased 14 products from them for our little ones Christmas gifts. I’m very big into pretend play as an educator. I feel it’s very important since most of our preschool age children lack the ability to have pretend play and are forced into early educational reading and math standards before their fine motor skills are fully developed. Learning resources has terrific products that are budget friendly and the products are durable, washable, well-made, and wonderful if you have an age range of children in your household like we do. Even with my one-year-old son, I feel that the parts are not small enough that It possesses a potential choking hazard with the play foods. Some of the sorting toys are smaller. Our playroom is stocked with sorting toys and pretend play food in almost every kind they make. Highly recommend anything from this company. These are the kind of toys that I keep for many years and pass along to family members who then have kids or keep for the future for my own grandkids. They are not junk toys that end up in resale shops in a year or two. I’ve had learning resource toys that I’ve saved for over 15 years from my first two oldest children. Love this company.

Another Learning Resources Hit in the Play Kitchen!
We have purchased several of the Learning Resources food play sets including this one, the bakery set, the breakfast basket, and the dinner basket and we've been very happy with all the sets because they are such high quality compared to all the other cheap plastic play food we've tried. This set, like the others, is made of high quality vinyl, not cheap plastic. The pieces are brightly colored and VERY realistic looking and detailed, such as the lines on the lettuce and the seeds on the tomato slices. Light years away from other play food quality! In the set you get light and dark lettuce leaves, 4 serving bowls, 1 large salad bowl, sliced bell peppers (the description says you get red peppers too but they are all yellow), carrot chips, tomatoes, cucumbers, and tongs. The tongs are great for working on fine motor skills of picking up the individual pieces and putting them in the bowls. This set is also great because it teaches healthy eating habits and you can use the pieces to work on color and food recognition as well as for counting the pieces. If you're looking for food for your play kitchen, Learning Resources is the best on the market!

Learning resources has some of the BEST play food sets around, hands down. They are realistic, durable & made of quality materials! I initially ordered the salad kit, expecting the atypical Melissa & Doug type kit and I was BLOWN AWAY! In my opinion this brand exceeds the more expensive ones for much better price points and oh the variety!!. The soup kit is awesome, as is the BBQ grill. Some kits have age recommendations that start at 18 months (probably more a testament to their safety standards), do not let that sway you. They are perfect for older kids as well. I purchased for a almost 6 year old and she loves it!!!! This brand will definitely be my go to for gifts in the future!

Better Than Melissa and Doug!
I almost bought the Melissa and and Doug salad but the price went up right before I made the purchase so I got this one instead. I am so glad I did! This thing is tough and it's the most played with item in my sons kitchen. The food is made of tough rubber and even a childs pretend biting does not leave marks. It is not flimsy like the felt leaves and even with all of our many pets it does not collect fur. He LOVES the tongs. He seems to be able to use them well after I showed him that he has to grip them lower. I love the bowls. They are perfect for sorting and counting. It comes with 4 tomatoes, 4 carrots, 4 cucumbers, 8 yellow bell peppers, 6 dark lettuce leaves and 6 light lettuce leaves, tongs, a large salad bowl and 4 small blue bowls. It is plenty for an awesome salad to share!

Fun Salad Toy
My granddaughter loves loves loves this play set. She watches her mother making salad and now she can make her own salad. It encourages her to eat her vegetables too! The pieces are very durable and should last a very long time with daily play.
