Blew my expectations away
Holy moley, this is an awesome sword. I'm a huge dork and have a few decorative (but very sharp) LOTR replica swords and a lightsaber hanging on my wall. (I told you, HUGE dork.) My 5 year old has always wanted to play with them and i'm less-than-thrilled with that premise. So i've been looking for some sort of LARP or play sword for him to mess around with. Then i came across this, and it's perfect. It's foam, looks real, has a truss rod sort of thing inside to keep it's shape and doesn't have the pesky drawbacks of losing a limb, drawing blood, or damaging property during play. I have to say the craftsmanship blew me away, the sword is made of a dense foam that is sturdy while still flexing and compressing when it comes into contact with something. There's also a metal rod or something akin to metal running through the center of the sword so it won't bend all the way or get floppy or anything like that. The attention to detail is great, this looks like a legit broadsword and could probably pass for one on camera if you were using it as a film prop. All the detailed paint work and molding gives a serious sense of reality to an otherwise 'toy' sword. It's a great sword for play fighting (although a solid whack will still sting a little bit, depending on how hard it's swung). The weight isn't too bad, it definitely has some weight to it but isn't crazy heavy. My toddler can swing it around without much difficulty (even though it's taller than he is). All in all, it's awesome and i may just get one for myself to duel with him, ha.

Great costume piece!
Only minor surface flaws on delivery, few dents but nothings you'd notice unless you really looked for them the seams on each side of the blades could amhace been cleaned up a little better after mounding, but this is an inexpensive piece. The weight is nice, not flimsy but not too heavy to weight one down all day. Great for Cosplay; the tip is very soft but a firmer edge would hurt decently making this questionable for LARPing, but perhaps could be an option. Looks great! Be careful not to strike the edge too hard on a hard surface; it may leave marks on the blade fairly easily.

Worth the entry price
I was initially skeptical of LOOYAR's foam sword since there were few detail shots on the product page, but after getting it in my hand, those doubts have vanished. This is not a top-of-the-line cosplay prop by any stretch of the imagination, but it is much better than comparable products in its price range. There are a few slight imperfections along the seams, most notably some roughness along the grip and two pin-sized holes about a quarter of the way down the blade leftover from the manufacturing process, but you will only notice them under very close inspection. This is very much a one-handed sword, and at 6' 1" my large hands just barely fit in the grip. That said, the weight and balance of the sword is very good, and it is comfortable to hold for extended periods. The outside of the sword is a dense foam. There is a solid core to the weapon running from the handle all the way up to about 1.5" from the tip - probably resin or PVC by the weight and feel of it - that allows it to keep its shape. Overall, at this price point, I doubt you'll find a better general-purpose foam sword.

Purchased x2 Damaged x2 straight out of the box.
I ordered this for my nephew for Christmas. The first time I received it, the tip was damaged so I returned it. The second time I ordered, the exact same damage was on the tip of the sword. Looks and feels good. Packed/stored poorly.

Tip was bent
Overall a pretty nice sword. It was a smaller than I expected. The tip of the sword was a little bent so I returned it.
