Great drums, cheap cymbals.
Received this on Saturday. Set it up with my 7 year old daughter in about an hour. There were some differences in the product and the video tutorial, but luckily I’ve set drums up before and there really wasn’t much to it. I was searching for a kit that we could use to generate some excitement for her musical future. She’s been asking for drums for quite a bit, but a full size kit at budget pricing just doesn’t sound right to me. I worked in a music shop for years, and shell packs under $800 bucks just never sound great to my ear. That’s what’s kind of ingenious about this drum kit. Smaller drums mean less production cost. These little Guys sound surprisingly good. We spent a good amount of time tuning, and the overall sound of the kit is remarkable. I will say, the bottom hi hat almost immediately flipped inside out, so the same shape as the top hat. We’re replacing those soon, but I could see that being a big disappointment for someone. The crash also split in the first two hours of playing, so we’re picking out a new one of those too. Value wise it’s the best starter kit I could imagine for a younger kid. The hardware feels good, and the drums sound great. The cymbals as with all of these inexpensive kits, are just gross. Great investment. Thanks GearNuts.

Great drum kit!
Product was very nice. Wrapped and packed well everything damage free. It seems sturdy and sounds nice for a 250 dollar drum set. Cymbals aren’t great but the fact that it comes with cymbal stands and cymbals for 250 is cool too I’ll just upgrade the cymbals later. I could see how it could be hard to assemble but i had no problems putting it together since I’ve assembled drum kits before. If you never have it comes with a link to instructions online. For a beginner and young child I think it’s an awesome set and there are some cool beginner lessons from Questlove himself in link also!

Everything you want it to be and more
I've been playing/teaching drums for 25 years. Different bands, different styles, many different drum kits over the years. I was looking for a small but good quality kit for my nephew and niece to start on and I came across this one, and I have to say the sound you get out of this pocket kit is incredible. Easy to assemble, and the kids were playing within an hour of us opening the box. The quality for the price cannot be beat. There is no better starter kit for young drummers. The kit is getting a lot of use by the kids (and parents/aunts/uncles) and their friends. Look no further for the right kit to get the rhythm going in your music room.

Highly recommended
My daughter (10) got this for Christmas. She loves it and 4 months in is going strong on the drums. Note that assembly is a pain. The instructions come via video ( YouTube link I think) and it is not easy. Expect 1-2 hours to put it together. Once together though it is great. Sturdy. Durable and worth the money.
