Amazing toy!
The media could not be loaded. Overall, this is a great RC toy. First of all, it’s very sturdy - it has survived countless hits, accidental kicks, and general rough handling with no issues. Performance hasn’t suffered at all; there are no problems with the gears, motor, or anything else. Second, it drives smoothly and is easy to control. It has two speed modes: "slow" for indoor use and "fast" for outdoors. I haven’t tried it on sand, grass, or snow, but on relatively even surfaces (concrete, asphalt, wood floors, carpet, etc.) it runs without any problems. The capture claw is manual - having it motorized would be great, but even in manual form it’s still fun to use. It’s surprisingly strong, though, so getting hit by it can be uncomfortable for adults and potentially painful for small children. I don’t think it can be easily removed, but it's relatively stable while lifted. One odd thing is that the remote doesn’t have a power on/off switch, but I haven’t noticed any significant battery drain while it’s idling, so I guess it's not a big deal.

Add this to your Jurassic Park Collection!
This is a really fun RC car. We only played with this inside, as I felt i was more of an inside toy then an outside toy, and it drove all over our rugs and carpets with ease! This comes with a little dinosaur toy, and the front of this car has a catch, that you prop open, then run it into something and it closes and grabs it. So you can drive around and trap your dinosaurs! I do like that this has two speed controls. As I said, we played with it inside, so the lower speed control was really nice, and I think it's great for kids to help slow down their driving a bit and not hurt anyone! This is a full range RC, so you don't have to go in reverse to turn. The controls are really easy to use. My 5 year old niece drove it around first try! I didn't eve have to show her how to drive it! The design of this is great! It has the catch on the front, then the car itself has a holding basket for your caught critters. Making it really great for imaginary play. This is a decent sized RC car, like I said, perfect for inside play. It's pretty durable too, we ran it into some furniture and a wall, while testing with it, and it bounced with ease and nothing broke. For the money, this is not only a fun little RC car, but I think it would make a great collectors item for that Jurassic Park fan in your life!

Cool RC Dino Rig Works Famously!
The media could not be loaded. From start to finish, unboxing and playing with this RC Dino Catcher Truck by Matchbox, is like a movie. The licensing on this RC is a who’s who of toy cars, movies and games going all the way up to Universal and Mattel. With all this pedigree, I expected this to be engineered, manufactured, and quality tested to the degree a new release in a line of toys representing a trillion$ movie franchises new blockbuster, would be. At the price, I expected a lot from this RC and would test it critically. To accomplish a truly fair review of this RC venture, I consulted a resident expert on RC toys and local dinosaur authority; my neighbors 5 year old son, who likes to be referred to as, Rocky. It comes in a very cool collectors display box with eye catching graphics and lots of branding. The rig is high quality plastic, solidly constructed, takes (5)AA batteries, with a sturdy, compact controller taking (2)AAA batteries. As popular as it has been to retrofit most RCs with a rechargeable battery, there are advantages to powering the car with AAs; You never need to find a charging cord with an outlet, and AAs can be easily stored and immediately replace expired batteries for uninterrupted play. This toy’s main feature is the spring loaded catcher on the front bumper. It is pre-sprung by hand, with no RC function, making it sturdy and reliable. It does take some inertia and impact to close the catcher jaws and catch an object. The weight of the (5)AAs adds some heft to the cars traction and impact force, improving performance. The car is more intended to be played with as a hands on toy and AAs are adequate for how much the car will realistically be played with. When I drove the car, I found it a well functioning (2)speed RC, with enough power to run around on hardwood floors “catching” with the jaws, the excellent velociraptor figurine(with removable base!). The well working, spring loaded catcher is tough and meant to be used often and roughly. The entire car is built for hands on play and is sturdy with very good details and a really cool utility rig. One of the key features intentionally designed in this car, is its perfect compatibility fitting popular sized action figures in the seats and in the cargo bed. This alone makes it more than just an RC, but a capable troop and critter carrier. The cargo bed is even the perfect height to lock an action figures arms over the rails for secure travel. Clever carrier! Overall, I think it’s a high end, toy grade, collectible RC, with excellent hands on features and playable longevity. Just as I would expect from an RC toy by the biggest names in the industry. But I am an adult focused on product details, quality and functionality. What did Rocky, the 5 year old tester think? After running through one set of batteries and replacing them with fresh(something he enjoys doing), he demonstrated how many of his figurines it could carry. He liked driving the RC and playing with the catcher, but mainly liked turning it off and just playing with it with his action and dinosaur figurines. When asked the three things he liked most about the RC car, he responded, “Okay, but there’s WAY more than three awesome things…” When asked the three things he didn’t like about the RC car, he was a little frustrated, “I don’t like I can’t think of anything I don’t like about it!” 5 stars????????

Honest review by remote dad
This is an early review of this item for a four year old: I was hoping this truck would be slower than his remote race cars and be easier to navigate indoor toy obstacle course but no. Immediately he decided it was better to push around by hand for close interaction with figures, but the rubbery grippy tires fight hand-pushed turns compared to the plastic tires on non remote mattel jurassic vehicles. Seats 2 up front and very roomy cargo area to load more. Seems the older vehicle that holds fewer figures is retired; unforeseen sadly as he only had that one a year and wasn't cheap. The claw will probably be removed as it is not being utilized; it's a little tricky to operate. The dino is ok looking but just a hunk of plastic without sounds it will be redshirted.

Fun RC Toy for Jurassic World Fans – Some Minor Flaws
The media could not be loaded. This remote-controlled Jurassic World truck has been a big hit with my sons! It’s easy to control and the “boost” feature actually gives it an exciting speed boost, which they love. The truck runs smoothly on both hard floors and low carpet, and it’s not overly loud. The included dinosaur and capture cage add to the fun, though the claw mechanism can be a little tricky—it doesn’t always close evenly, and it doesn’t automatically open to release the dinosaur, which disappointed the kids a bit. Still, it’s a fun and engaging toy, especially for young Jurassic World fans. The battery life is decent, and overall, it’s a good value for the playtime it provides.
