Purchased this as a gift for a 2 year old. She loved it! The pages turn to color as she "paints" with water on the individual thick pages. It makes no mess, except for a little water. And when the pages dry she can begin again. I love these and have several of them for my toddler. He adores them! They are great for car trips, eating out at restaurants, and even for entertaining at the doc office. It's also nice how you have a holder for the "paint pen" and that makes it even easier to keep it all together (no lost parts). I keep at least one of these in our diaper bag at all times. You never know when you might need it. Highly recommend!!!!!

Don't waste your money on any thing other that Melissa & Doug brand
My 3 year old granddaughter loves these Water Wow books and they keep her busy for hours. Cheap, only use water, reusable, mess free...what more can you ask for? She paints them and can barely wait for them to dry so she can paint them again. I bought several of the Melissa and Doug books and all high quality. I also bought the Elmers brand - what a disappointment! Only bad thing is out of about 8 books she only wants to paint "the make up one and the princess one" (she is a girly-girl!).

AWESOME AWESOME toy. This is our 5th Water Wo book as my 3 year absolutely loves this. This is perfect for a child 2-5. Perfect for the car, perfect for airplane trip, perfect for at home. This would be the best stocking stuffer. EVERY child who has come to my house wants one of these books. You can fill the little paint brush that the book comes with and the water lasts for a long time. Our book has been painted at least 50 times. Totally reusable. This would be my kids #1 favorite toy ever.

If I could give these ten stars, I would. We have used them with my two daughters starting at 15 months. My three year old still loves them. They love to paint them, let them dry, and the- paint the scenes and people, and we have a bunch of different ones for variety. I love that there is no mess and the water is easy to fill and stays fairly well in the pen when storing for a while. Easier to cart around then a bunch of different markets or crayons and no mess. The water pen stores really nicely in the front slot so I don't ever lose it. These are GREAT for the car, the grocery store, waiting for the doctor, etc. I put a couple of them into our diaper bag and they are there when I need them. My girls love these and are occupied for quite a while with them. My nieces also love these, and they are between 3-6 years old. Cons- they do scratch with use, especially if your kids are pressing hard. My one daughter will occasionally open the pen up and dump out the water, however it is not that much water and it dries quickly. Much less mess than markers and no need to hunt for marker caps that have gone missing. Great little products!

Keeps my daughter occupied.
These things keep my daughter entertained for hours. By the time she finishes the last of the pages, the first ones have dried and she can start over. My complaints are: 1. The brush has to have water added constantly. So while I originally thought this would be a great idea for a long car ride, I do not think it's safe to try to pour the last bit of water in my water bottle into the tiny opening of this pen while I also try to drive 70 down the highway. Because we are not stopping. Again. 2. The bristles aren't strong enough to take the brunt force of a 3-5 year old scribbling on this pad, so it ends up being the hard plastic of the paint pen being scratched across the surface. Basically, we have to replace them faster than the warping (of all the water on the cardboard pages) would normally call for, because my daughter has scratched off half the picture. If you and your kids are more well adjusted than our family, you will probably love these. If you're as messed up as us, you'll think they are worth the problems, because MY KID HASN'T MADE ANY ANNOYING NOISES IN 20 MINUTES!

Amazing!
These Water Wow books are amazing. My 3 year old has been loving these for a couple of years. There is no mess, and the little brush holds water so it travels well. We have used a paintbrush in water when we have lost the brush it comes with, and that is great. She has also used her fingers in water to color on it when we can't find any brush. We have a couple of these in the car, and some at home. We change them out so she doesn't get bored. We bring them to basketball games with us so she has something to keep her entertained. They stand up over time, because she has had the same ones for years, and she uses them often, and they are holding up well. They also dry fairly quickly so they can be used again. They are wonderful!

My daughter LOVES this!! The colors are vibrant when the page is wet and turns very white again after it dries. She has been using it repeatedly for a couple of months and it still looks good. These are great products and perfect for the car. They also make great party favors because they're relatively inexpensive and so much more useful than the cheap stuff you can get at the party store or Oriental Trading that ends up in the garbage the next day.

Great for in the car with little mess
All of our children ages 2 to 8 yrs old love Melissa and Doug Water Wows! I love that I can give them to my 2 year old without having to worry about her making a huge mess all over the furniture like she does with markers. They're super easy to fill and use. We love to bring them along in the car with us on car trips or even on short grocery trips/outings to keep little hands occupied. Would definitely recommend, especially since you can do them over and over again. We have a few that we have had for over 5 years still going strong!

Fun and creative
