More Challenging Than It Looks
I picked this puzzle up for my dad since the tin robot design reminds him of the toys from his childhood. When we opened it, I was initially concerned it might be too easy, but the box contains quite a pile of clear green pieces. The instructions are more of a guide than a step by step process, so you really have to figure out how the parts fit together on your own. He has been working on it for about two weeks, and it's still providing a good challenge. He says the tricky part is understanding how the different angled pieces interlock to build the robot's shape. It’s been a fun, slow burn project for him to chip away at in the evenings. It's certainly more than a simple afternoon puzzle.

Good fun & function. Great gift idea.
It was fun. My eyes aren't the greatest, so the thing that added the most to the difficulty was the pieces being see-through. On most 'normal' puzzles, even 3D, you can't see through the pieces. This made identifying the needed shapes more challenging, but certainly not impossible or overly frustrating. They look good apart & put together, kind of like a gemstone effect. I think it would really stand out displayed somewhere with good lighting to pass through it and be refracted. It all seems like good quality, and would be able to handle doing over again and again. But, you might want to skip adding the stickers if that's your plan. The other thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to move it carefully and lift it by the legs once complete or you'll likely be reassembling it. I like that you can move the arms and turn the head. It makes it possible to pose the robot to meet your display needs. I like the look of the classic robot design, and the inclusion of 3 different eye colors was a nice touch for customization. The stickers are very sticky so careful placement is important. Once they are on they like to stay on. It isn't huge, but it is a nice size for versatile display options. It is really light weight so it doesn't take something too heavy duty to hold it safely. I think this one is a great gift idea for if you have a tech geek in your life. I'm going to put it on my desk at my office where I'm sure it will be a hit. I'm looking at the other options as gifts too. The fun & function value for the money seems quite fair.

Great robot to add to our growing collection!
Love these crystal 3D puzzles, and love that they finally making more of them that can appeal to boys. If you have never done these puzzles before, note that they DO NOT provide instructions. Part of the "puzzle" is to figure out HOW to put it together. If you are REALLY stuck, there is a tutorial on youtube that will help you put it together piece by piece. This is also a figurine, so while you can manually rotate the head and the windup key in the back, and move the arms and legs, winding up the toy does not make it move. It's not motorized. The quality of the stickers are good too, they are permanent stickers that won't loose their stickiness over time. We love it and find it's a great addition to our collection of other 3D puzzles.

Our favorite toys!
My 10 year old son is obsessed with these puzzles! He put this one together entirely on his own. It looked cute in his Easter basket and he was thrilled to dive in. One thing we’ve learned, is that it helps to sort all your pieces in numerical order so you’re sure to account for every one before you start to assemble. The puzzle building process is much more fun if you’re sure you’re trying to make the correct piece fit. Other than that little tip, it’s very straightforward! The finished product is pretty small. Perfect to display on a shelf when you’re done building!

A Seriously Difficult to Assemble Puzzle, Boring
The description states that this puzzle is ages 12+ for good reason. The product comes as a box having a plethora of pieces having the same dark green color, general shape, and transparency, that pretty much look alike in shape, size, and color. The product is described as a 3D puzzle. What this nomenclature seems to reference is that assembly is by overlaying classical-puzzle looking protrusions and indentations cast into the surface of thick pieces having similarly dimensioned and shaped outer edges. The pieces should have been better distinguishable by having different colors and/or geometries. The result is an assembly problem, aka "puzzle", that is relatively challenging for adult assembly because of the lack of conspicuous visual cues. While the visual sameness among the pieces creates difficulty for assembly, said assembly is more nearly a challenge to "see" the pieces and their differences than an exercise in visualization and learning. Assembling these blandly similar looking pieces becomes boring fast. Perhaps the general idea could be much better in a different and more creative implementation.

Fun 3D Robot Puzzle
Very cool 3D Robot Crystal Puzzle. For those not used to these 3D crystal puzzles you need to download the assembly instructions online (or learn how to use a search engine), it's a lot of fun and can be done in 20-30 minutes... make sure you have patience and a steady hand and you will do fine. Highly recommended.

Fun puzzle!
Bought for my 9 year old who's really good at problem solving games and puzzles. Though this is recommended for ages 12 and up, he completed the entire puzzle in less than an hour. Totally awesome - only downside is that he completed it so fast and I wish he'd been entertained for longer, but that's not the fault of the puzzle at all. all of the pieces are there and it seems durable. Includes a screw to hold it together afterwards. Pretty cute too! Highly recommend.
