Fun, good quality, large format
I really like the Ravensburg 500 piece large format puzzles - the larger pieces are easy to handle, and I don’t have to wear reading glasses or turn on a bright light to see them, which makes it relaxing at the end of a long day. The pieces are sturdy and fit together nicely. I also liked the design of this one, as it’s tranquil but not too cute (no kittens with yarn, etc.). If you use a puzzle board, keep in mind that these puzzles are sized similarly to a 1000 piece puzzle due to the larger pieces (27 x 20 inches).

For all of you novices, count the pieces before you start putting the puzzle together!
FINAL UPDATE: I AM SORRY!!!! IT IS TOTALLY MY FAULT!!!! The maid found the last piece. I now get to frame it. I did, however, learn a lot about jigsaw puzzles. UPDATE: After I posted this review, I counted the pieces in a 1000 piece puzzle, New Yorker Cat Nap. Turns out there were 1069 pieces. It never crossed my mind that a puzzle would be other than 1000 pieces as advertised. So I guess my suggestion was wrong. It does not matter if you count the pieces. Bottom line, you are not going to know if all of the pieces are there until you finish the puzzle. If they are not, you just had the rich emotional experience of spending hours on a puzzle you cannot frame. However, if you are one of those who just finish the puzzle and then take it apart after a few days (which, to my dismay, was done by a friend of mine), than I guess you've lost nothing. Happy Puzzling! The expert puzzlers probably figured this out long ago. Count the pieces before you begin. I loved putting this puzzle together and could not wait to frame it. However, as shown, I was missing one piece. I got on Ravensburger's website to order a single piece but they do not do that. Their puzzle tools are rebuilt by hand after every 60,000 units or so. That means that puzzle pieces from different production runs are cut differently and cannot be used for puzzles from previous production runs. I bought this in December of 2019 so they have probably gone through a gazillion production runs. On top of that, due to unexpected demand, they are unable to fulfill orders at this time. To add insult to injury, everywhere I look, this puzzle is now unavailable. I know. In the big picture of life, this is so trivial. Nonetheless, I am bummed.

Overall Great
Overall this is a great puzzle. Ravensburger is known for good quality. The pieces are big and easy to handle. They fit together well. The puzzle has an anti-glare coating, which is definitely nicer for the eyes during assembly. Although, the finished image is not quite as vibrant as the glossy image on the box. (A typical trade-off for anti-glare.) Being a 500, it goes together pretty fast. Although there are plenty of challenging parts to keep you entertained. Dust was minimal, and no pieces had any lift on them. I did have one strange issue; which I've never had before. Some of the pieces were noticeably warped. Not bent to an extent that they were creased. Just warped. I'd never seen this before. A minor nuisance. Again, overall it's a fun puzzle, by a good manufacturer.

Lovely Rooftop Garden Picture
After doing nine of the Ravensburger 300 piece large format puzzles, I decided to try a 500 piece so it would take me longer to finish. It did indeed take me a week versus an average of three or four days for the 300 piece. The sky was easy enough for me but I had trouble with everything else. There are a lot of similar areas with the flowers and buildings and the smaller pieces (the 300 piece puzzle pieces are larger) do not give you as much of a clue where they go. It was eventually finished and looks really nice. When I did the 300 piece puzzles, it was almost impossible to place a piece in the wrong spot because of the precision of the fit. However, I had two pieces that seemed to be the perfect piece for a spot and ended up not being so. This misplacement led to a lot of frustration in trying to complete those sections as other pieces that truly did belong, wouldn't fit because of the misplaced piece. When I finally figured this out, I was amazed how well those misplaced pieces fit. So I deducted one star for the possibility of error with the pieces. Despite this, Ravensburger will continue to be my puzzle of choice.

The colors are really crisp and bright
The puzzle was not super easy to do but was fun for my wife and myelf (age 72). We have been doing a number of puzzles since staying home so much this summer (due to virus). We have purchased about a dozen puzzles this summer and had fun with them all. However, the Ravensburger brand is truly the best we have purchased. The pieces fit very nice and is hard to make a mistake if you try and match a wrong piece. We did this Rooftop Garden 3 times and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys puzzels. The 500 to 700 piece are our favorites...1000 piece's are a little too hard for us to see so the 500 is about the best. Enjoy!

The Ravensburger puzzles are a favorite for our family, because the pieces fit together so easily. The picture is lovely also.

Terrific puzzle

Usual Ravensburger high quality
Had not realized that this had xl pieces. Not a problem, in fact much,easier to handle. Lovely picture and as with all Ravensburger puzzles the pieces interlock snugly. Very hard to put wrong piece in place. Very satisfied.
