O livro é bom, em questão de estrutura física, no conteúdo ele é magnífico, essencial. O livro é apresentado como um diário com os dias certos e os relatos do dia, uma leitura fluida e envolvente.

A wonderfully realistic literary journey.
This book is a fantastic read that helps us delve into the grim reality of life as faced by millions around the globe. Written by Carolina Maria de Jesus as her journal that she meticulously kept in the 1950's, the book shows us the dark side of living in São Paulo's favelas, so unlike the vision often presented to American viewers. For anyone who has studied Brazilian Portuguese, the language of the book will ring familiar to one's ears. As a literary experience, this book is cathartic in that I can appreciate so much more what I have and the trials that I do not have go through like she did. An excellent and fast read.

J'ai reçu l'ouvrage après un délai non négligeable, mais prévu. Ma déception vient d'une sorte de point de colle sur la première de couverture ! Cet ouvrage est destiné à ma fille pour son anniversaire ... je n'ai pas le temps de le retourner ou l'échanger compte tenu des délais ... et je déplore de devoir lui offrir un livre abimé ...

This is a must read!
This book is amazing. Carolina brings us to her routine and we can almost feel the sensations she describes in a very simple Portuguese, especially the hunger. This book changed me somehow. It is funny that someone says in his review the book gets repetitive: this is a slumdog’s journal, should we expect anything different than someone struggling to survive day after day? Definitely recommend the book.
