Excelente producto, Pero no es compatible con la VW Tiguan que se vende en México!!!!!!
La calidad del producto es excelente y viene especialmente diseñado un hueco en la defensa para instalarla fácilmente pero desgraciadamente y esto no lo dice la parte compatibilidad es que la VW Tiguan que se vende en México no viene preparada para recibir el hitch a pesar de contar con el hueco en la defensa, buscando e investigando para las versiones americanas el alma de acero del parachoques trasero viene con un aditamento especial que cuenta con los huecos para instalar este hitch y en México no se consigue esta pieza en las agencias vw Mexicanas y de conseguirla en Estados Unidos sale en 600 dlls más un envío de un articulo que pesa 13kg. Es una lastima ya que se me hace de los sistemas más sencillo de instalar, pero al menos para las versiones mexicanas de la tiguan no sirve para nada y habrá que buscar sistemas adaptados si es que buscas ponerle tirón a esta camioneta

Great little hitch, easy to install
Almost two years later this hitch still looks brand new. 1/3rd the cost of the factory VW hitch (and that's before installation), 2" receiver for my bike rack = Slam dunk! If you are worried about installing it yourself, don't be. If you have a good 3/8ths socket set lying around, and you can tie your shoes, you are good to go. Took me about 20 minutes to install lying on the ground. You DO have to cut a square out of the bottom of the bumper to install (it's outlined for you), so keep that in mind if it's leased (in that case cut clean and save the piece to glue back in later).

Solid unit with 5 minute install
Bought this for my 2015 VW Tiguan SE. The stock VW hitch is 1-1/4 which seems a bit small and limits the aftermarket carriers, bike racks, etc that you can fit. This is a very heavy and well made 2" unit with nice looking paint. Install was 5 minutes with the included bolts and star washers. You need to cut along the pre-scored section of the underside of the bumper with a utility knife to get access to the bumper crossmember where this bolts in. It is a good idea to use a torque wrench to make sure you get it torqued to the spec as defined in the instructions. I am thinking some threadlock probably wouldn't hurt either - don't want 10 pounds of hitch to fall off on the highway - or worse, whatever you are towing. If you want electrical to go with this you will need to spend some big bucks with VW to get the trailer control module, mount it in the trunk behind the side panel, connect the existing wire segments up and program the towing feature in the vehicle computer. But for bike racks and such, no need for the power. I also put a d-ring on the hitch because I like the look and figure it will protect my bumper from people who don't know how to parallel park (Smittybilt 29312B Receiver Hitch D-Ring)

Easy DIY, Hardware Included
Tools needed: Box Cutter 17mm socket Torque Wrench (up to 38ftlbs) 6" extension (And any couplers you may need...) 10 minute installation: 1. Cut the pre-scored panel under the bumper. 2. Unbox this item. 3. Use the included hardware to mount this to the holes under the bumper. I used a 3/8" drive 17mm socket, 6" extension, and 1/2" drive torque wrench with a 1/2" drive 17mm socket and extension. Torque to 38lbs. Note: Don't forget to hook up lights before towing a trailer. Also, do not exceed the 350lb tongue weight. This means if you are using a cargo carrier, it is unwise to cary a load more than 350lbs including the weight of the hitch cargo carrier. The max load of your trailer should be below the max rating of your hitch. This one stated a 3500lb tow capacity and 350lb tongue capacity. Check your braking capability while towing at full load in a controlled setting such as an empty parking lot before towing on public streets if you are new to towing with a vehicle not built for towing heavy loads such as the Tiguan.

Easy install, fair price ($110 CDN), and as described. It took longer to get my tools together than the actual installation. If you don't already have one, buy or borrow a torque wrench for a proper installation. Visually it looks good and doesn't protrude out past the bumper or the underside of the body. Perfect fit with the Tow Ready 63201 J-Pin Anti-Rattle Pin. The standard Reese Ball Mounts may stick out a little further than you like when installed. I drilled a new hole (.6875" or 11/16" dia.) with a step drill 1.75" closer to the ball for a cleaner look and less bumping of my shins. I would take off a 1/4 star for the weld spatter if I could, but the finish was otherwise fine.
