Well thought out playset for a little boy (or girl) I have to admit I never really thought of a mining set up to be something you could translate into a toy set for a child. Be aware it is all made from plastic some of it better quality than other pieces. The multiple provided vehicles are sturdy, and the base that you set up on is made from a heavy weight card, but some of the bits and pieces are a little less quality. Taking into account the price you would also expect the required batteries to be supplied but they aren't so if you are buying as a gift make sure you add enough into the box to ensure you are good to go from unwrapping. Nice set, I can't say I think it is worth the price, considering it is all made from plastic and not what you would call long lasting quality.

Das lerrbo Construction Slot Car Spielzeug Set sieht auf den ersten Blick richtig cool aus und macht kleinen Bau-Ingenieuren viel Spaß. Der Aufbau ist relativ einfach und die mitgelieferte Anleitung hilft gut weiter. Es gibt verschiedene Autos, einen Bagger, Straßenschilder und eine schöne Baukarten-Spielmatte – da kommt richtig Bauhof-Feeling auf. Was aber leider stört: Im Lieferumfang sind keine Batterien enthalten, was bei einem elektrischen Spielset schade ist – das sollte man direkt mitbestellen. Nach dem Auspacken hatte das Plastik einen leichten chemischen Geruch, der nach ein paar Tagen aber besser wurde. Die Verarbeitung wirkt insgesamt eher einfach und nicht besonders robust. Für Kinder unter 3 Jahren ist das Set absolut nicht geeignet – zu viele Kleinteile und insgesamt kein sehr vertrauenserweckender Eindruck bei der Qualität. Das Spielprinzip funktioniert grundsätzlich und sorgt für Unterhaltung, aber wer Wert auf langlebiges, hochwertiges Spielzeug legt, sollte sich nach Alternativen umschauen. Für ältere Kinder, die gerne bauen und experimentieren, ist es aber ein nettes Geschenk mit vielen Spielmöglichkeiten. Preis viel zu hoch (China Produkt)

Under 5's must be supervised
Le produit multimédia n'a pas pu être chargé. There is a lot to like about this set. First, the components are very well made, mostly of ABS or similar plastic, and quite a lot of thought has gone into how they will be assembled. There is a very good pictorial step-by-step construction plan. Most of the pieces have code letters and numbers stamped on them and these correspond with the numbers given in each stage of the plan; they have been designed so that they can only fit together in one way; and they fit together accurately. An older child, say 5 or above, and a parent could put this together, but not a child on their own. It took my wife and I around 25 minutes to assemble the set and attach all the stickers. The set doesn't come supplied with batteries and it needs 3 AA batteries to run the car conveyors and 3 AAA batteries for the vehicle which powers the marble run. These should have been supplied. When it's switched on it is mesmerising to watch, with the little cars going up the conveyor belts and zooming down the twisty track. There are two switch settings for the car conveyors, one which sets them going without a background sound-track and a second setting which plays some truly awful jolly music as well. The marble chute is powered with a little hand-wheel to turn the corkscrew which raises the marbles. The hand-wheel can be replaced by the larger electric van which has a gearwheel underneath which engages with the corkscrew. Overall, the set works very well. I do have a significant concern about the suitable child age-range which is set out out on the box and in the product listing. The box simply states the set is suitable for 3+ year-olds and the listing gives 2 age ranges - one is given as "3,4,5,6,7" and the other as "4-8". My grandson is 3 years-old and I would certainly not let him play with this unsupervised. The little cars are only 3cm long and the plastic marbles are only 1cm in diameter (too easy to swallow and to be a choking hazard); also, whilst the set is well-made it will not stand up to any significant rough treatment. Whilst I think this set is very ingenious, well-made and great fun to watch, my concerns about age suitability mean I can't give it more than 3 stars.
