32 PCS Magnetic Tiles for Kids
mini set magnetic tiles for kids arrived in a nice presentation in a tin case very safe and durable also good for keeping everything organized and tidy when not in use .the magnetic tiles are colourful, good size, different shapes with strong magnets and well crafted .great for fine motor skills, imagination and creativity .nice gift idea .

Very disappointing
My 10 year old loves full-sized magnetic tiles so we thought these would be ideal to take on holiday. I gave the box to him when we reached the hotel so I could unpack in peace, and he was thrilled when he saw it. However, his excitement quickly turned to disappointment when he realised that despite the image on the box they cannot be put together in the same way the larger ones can and are very hard to build with. Partly this is because the thickness means they do not meet well at the corners. The magnets also often repel rather than attract so you have to turn a tile over and potentially try a few arrangements to find ones that work together. Even when they do attract correctly the bond is not very strong so the 3D shapes he made were prone to falling apart. One of the listing images shows a child building the rocket on a train table, but in fact it can only be built on the tin lid/bottom as it needs to attach securely to a base to have any stability at all. My son was unable to do this so my husband had a go and was eventually able to build a rather out of shape rocket. The problem is that the image shows the main body of the rocket built using tiles with gaps at the corners to make a prism with a nice square cross-section, but he found it impossible to build more than two layers like this as it lacked strength. Instead the tiles pulled together in place, creating an irregular cross-section. The triangles also ended up making a very misshapen cone. He did this in the hotel using the tin to stabilise it, but a tiny knock of the table sent it flying due to how unstable it was, so I wouldn’t recommend trying it on a train journey. We found they are only really suitable for building 2D patterns/shapes on the floor or a large table – as the listing shows 3 year olds doing - which isn’t ideal while travelling. Also the lid of the tin isn’t attached to the bottom so it would be easy to lose which isn’t ideal for travel either. If you child is very young and/or has never played with “proper” magnetic tiles they might like these, but in general I don’t recommend them.

Magnetic magic!
This is a lovely set of magnetic tiles that would make a great gift and are perfect to take away on holiday or to other locations such as a restaurant. The set of magnets come in a compact tin and the tin itself would fit in a small handbag meaning that it really can be taken anywhere to keep children busy when needed. The pieces are small enough that again a large construction area is not required. The magnets are a good strength.

Great travel magnetic tiles in a tin
This is a great little travel tin of magnetic tiles. There are 32 in total. My son loves magnetic tiles and spends hours playing with them but he hasn't had a travel set before. This is great for long car/plane journeys and they fit nicely into the tin. The tiles are well made and stick together well. This would make a great present too.

Great
These are so good. We have several of the full size sets but these travel ones are even better as they're just so practical. We went out for a long lunch today and this little tin of magnetic tiles kept our children entertained whilst they had to wait a long time. They're really good quality, robust, with strong magnets so they hold together well. They're brilliant. A great way to get creative, it's amazing the different things they can make with some tiles.
