Too good for art project I'd intended!
I was originally going to cut this up and glue it to canvas as texture to paint over. However it's much too nice for that! It's a really nice piece of fabric, beautifully presented, tightly twisted. The blue is a lovely soft shade, and the fabric is soft, nicely woven and much better quality than any other cheesecloth I've used. It's also hemmed. It's described as a table runner and it's definitely good enough quality for that. Illythink of a use for it, as I say it's much too nice for glueing onto canvas! Rustic, Wrinkled Style Table Runner – Quite Thin but Lovely Soft Material
This table runner arrived in a plastic bag and was twisted together on arrival. I ordered this table runner in a dusty blue which is a beautiful colour but they are also available in various other colours from this seller. The table runner measures 90cm x 400cm which is a good size but you will likely need to layer the material for best effect as the material is quite thin. It can be used as a table runner or alternatively as a decorative element for banisters or walls – it’s a nice versatile cloth. Although there isn’t a care labels on the table runner, I have machine washed it at 30°C in a delicates bag (to prevent any snags) and it washes well. The product description does describe the material as polyester / chiffon as well as cotton but I would think that it is a polyester / chiffon material considering it wrinkles so readily. The fabric is very soft and lightweight and I love the dusky blue colour. I think that this simple, wrinkled table runner makes a nice presentation element and looks quite elegant when laid out on a long table. The cloth’s edges have been finished reasonably well with a strong stitch line so it is unlikely to come apart. I will be using this for a birthday party later this year as part of a buffet set up and I do think it will finish off the table nicely. Priced at £9.99 at the time of reviewing, I think this is a reasonable price but be careful not to snag the fabric and I would definitely say that the runner is definitely more of a decorative item than a practical covering.
