Schöner Bausatz einer Curtiss P-40 von Airfix Curtiss
Das amerikanische Jagdflugzeug - Curtiss P-40 – ist bestimmt nicht nur bei Flugzeugbegeisterten bekannt. Daher nur Informationen zum Bausatz. Der Bausatz verfügt über 47 Bauteile, einen Pilot (mit sehr großen Kopf), 2 klare Bauteile und Decals für eine Curtiss Tomahawk IIB, No.112 Squadron, Fort Maddalena, Libya, 1941. Ferner sind 4 Farben, Pinsel und Klebstoff enthalten. Bei dem Bausatz handelt es sich um eine Neuauflage eines alten Bausatzes mit neuen Formen, was sich sowohl in der guten Passgenauigkeit, wie auch den Details angenehm bemerkbar macht (Strukturen sind schmuck dargestellt, kaum Grate oder Auswurfmarken). Lediglich das Cockpit könnte detaillierter dargestellt werden. Einige Spachtel- sowie Schleifarbeiten sind allerdings notwendig. Hinweise zum Tarnschema sind auf der Rückseite der Schachtel in Farbe dargestellt. Leider sind nur Decals für eine Version vorhanden. Zweiter kleiner Nachteil ist die nur einteilige Kanzel, die sich deswegen nur geschlossen darstellen lässt. Trotzdem – sehr schöner, passgenauer und günstiger Bausatz.

Pleasing and fairly easy to build
This is a favourite hobby of mine. I build 1/72 scale model aircraft flown by the RAF in World War II. This particular aircraft is the American-built Curtis P40 which was ordered by the RAF, and was used mainly in the North African desert campaign. The model was fairly easy to build with very clear instructions, and, as it came in the Starter Gift Set, it contained a tube of plastic cement, a paint brush, and 4 tubs of paint. A very pleasing kit.

Great moulding fits together well. Paints provided are also decent. Nice easy starter model. Would recommend to anyone starting the hobby!

Kit sencillo de montar, queda muy bonito.
El envío me llegó perfectamente bien empaquetado y en poco tiempo. El kit es sencillo pero de muy buena calidad. No le falta ningún detalle importante. La pintura es bastante buena con los colores exactos al modelo real.

A great start
I decided to get the starter set to see how it goes for me. It goes great. I love building this kit and will definitely build more. I also got a small modeling tool set which proved very helpful. The kit itself is straight-forward to build with easy to follow instructions. The paints needed are all included, I would have liked more than one brush to speed the painting process along. The cement provided is 'gloopy' and is great at securing pieces together. It also oozes out of the model if you happen to use too much, which is easy to do. I tended to use a liquid cement for some things and the provided cement for other parts. It took a week or two longer to arrive than I would have expected but that's not a big deal. It was packaged well and wasn't worse for wear. Overall, a big success and I'd recommend this to anyone who appreciates detail, or wants to learn to!
