Great sensory toy for infants
Although it’s recommended for ages 6 months and up, my baby tried it at 4.5 months old and loved it. The ball has multiple textures and colors that encourage exploration. My baby wanted to chew the different textured appendages. It’s lightweight, has many attention-grabbing patterns, and it’s well-made. I think this might look like a simple and nonsensical toy at first, but believe me, it has a lot of ways of developing an infant’s cognitive and motor development. My baby was able to play with it during floor time because it wasn’t way too big or heavy. I think it’s a thoughtfully made toy and I highly recommend it!

Not a lot of sensory
We got this for our nephew who we watch on the daily basis, I was looking forward to him using it as a nice alternative to his much harder sensory toys. Well, this is definitely softer, but it lacks sensory. It comes with a really small rattle that barely rattles and a few spots where he can chew. The little knob where it makes crinklier noise doesn't even crinkle unless and adult does it with some force.

Engaging and different textures and sounds
This is a fun sensory ball for little ones to play and explore with. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that I find this a little difficult to clean. It is primarily cloth based but there are 2 ends that rattle and have little balls in them. I would not dare to stick this in the washing machine if soiled as I think those would collect water and begin to mildew/mold. However, because I have not actually tried it I cannot attest that that is what would happen. This is otherwise very engaging and my daughter really seems to like this sounds this makes.

Sensory Ball - Educational Fun
This sensory ball has been a very good educational toy for my neighbor’s grandson who is 4 and autistic. Every surface has a different texture. The bright colors are very appealing and motivating for him. it squeaks, it rattles, it stands on two “feet” from every angle. The ball is about the size of a grapefruit with little extensions all over it. Two of the extensions are clear bell-shaped clear containers that hold little balls that make a lot of noise when you play with those sections. This is a very nice toy and it is quality! I am very happy with this , and because the price was so much lower than my local retail stores, I may buy two more for a couple of kids I know who could use this.

Fairly tough playtoy with different sensory experiences for a younger baby
RECOMMENDATION: Thumbs Up – There are several things to keep a baby busy here. THE GOOD: 1. Most of the sensory ball is fabric, which is taunt so a baby cannot get it too far into his/her mouth. 2. The biggest hit in our case were the two rattles with the balls in them. These are also the hardest parts of the toy, so there is the possibility for the baby to hit themselves accidentally. 3. There are lots here for a baby to chew on, which is always a good thing. THE BAD: 1. Calling this a STEM toy for a 6 month old is a real reach. Smart Steps needs to back off of the marketing.

Lots to explore on it
This sensory ball is a good size and has a lot to experience all in one toy. It looks like it does in the product photos and there were no issues with quality or function.

Step 2 sensory toy
Good quality step 2 sensory ball for ages 6 month and up. I have a new grandchild on the way and need toys for my house to keep baby entertained. At 6 months babies are very curious and most begin to chew on objects. This toy is soft and has nodules for chewing. Colors are perfect for drawing attention and curiosity. This toy is also very educational with various noises that help with hearing and different textures to feel. It’s bigger than I expected to be which makes it an even better value.

Lots To Offer
This Smart Steps Galaxy Sensory Ball is bigger than I expected. The actual ball itself is approximately 5” wide, not including the “modules” that protrude from various angles and directions. This sensory ball has a lot to offer, from colors to textures to sounds. There are tags to pull, balls to rattle, and corduroy, velvet and rubber textures. The vivid contrasting colors and patterns help to aid visual development. The purple module is soft and will help with teething. This product comes nicely packaged in a box and would make a great gift. Overall, I am really pleased with the Smart Steps Galaxy Sensory Ball. I feel that it’s a good value, and I will be looking to add more pieces from this line.
