Excellent back up transmitter.
I received this with with one of my planes and use it as a back up to my Spektrum NX8. It binds to a lot of my BNF Horizon planes. I also use this for my Real Flight 9.5 simulator too. Not as feature rich as the more expensive transmitters but it is a good deal.

I have been a RC pilot for years and have been wanting to move up to the next level
I have it for a few months still trying to figure it out. Just need to take the time and work with it. Its a kick to fly with this.

Very basic radio and needs upgrading to be useful
I bought this for a student to fly my helicopter. My instructor radio is an IX12. I was hoping that this would simply send the stick positions (-100 to +100) to my radio and everything else would be handled by my radio such as the throttle and pitch curves, limits, switch operations, channel mapping etc. However it acts a a full radio simply using my instructor radio to forward the signal to the helicopter. As such all the throttle and pitch curves come from the student radio. I could have lived with this design except that that the default throttle and pitch channels didn't appear to be mapped correctly. As soon as I switched from instructor to student the motor helicopter would spin up to full speed. This wasn't a matter of reversing the channel on the radio. Other reasons not to buy the radio were (1) a complete lack of control over what the throttle and pitch curves were on the radio and (2) the stick limits were +/- 100%. My Ikon2 FBU needs about 124-128% to operate correctly. The radio was also an early version, the PID starts with SHTK. This means that you are unable to toggle between the 4 preset models (3 aeroplane and 1 helicopter) without upgrading it first. To upgrade you need to connect it to an app on your phone or on a computer via a Spektrum specific cable. I already had a Spektrum bluetooth adapter SPMBT1000 but this would not work. I would have to buy the $25 SPMA3065 USB adapter. This would make it a $140 radio instead of a $115 radio.
