you have to get the sand wet for it to change color
This kinetic sand is super fun and works just the way it’s supposed to. Some reviews say the color doesn’t change, but it actually does once you get the sand wet. The shift is pretty cool to watch, and it makes playtime more interesting than regular kinetic sand. The texture is still soft and moldable, and once it dries it goes back to normal so you can use it again and again. My kids love experimenting with it, and it keeps them busy for a long time. Overall, it’s a neat twist on regular kinetic sand and definitely delivers on the color-changing feature.

Fun for kids
The color changing sand is neat. It does change color. And fun for kids. The only downside is it does take a while for the water to dry out and for the sand to go back to its original color.

Another great product
My kiddo owns several of the kinetic sand kits. We always keep atleast one in the car , as it’s an easy to carry activity that is fun and uses creativity and doesn’t involve a screen. Always well priced , sand is always top tier quality , heck even I find it somewhat relaxing to sit and sift it through my hands. Works time after time to keep them busy while siblings are playing sports or if we are eating at a restaurant outside. This kit is unique in comparison to the others with the wet element and is a perfect addition to the lineup.

Fun
This is a fun kinetic sand set. I actually opted to use it with no water. And my kids had so much fun as is. I like that it has the tray included so it helps with the mess. Be ready for a big mess

Good gift size
This is a great little kit for young kids. My son loves things like playdoh and kinetic sand, so this was good to grab for him. It is a good size to gift to others. My son really enjoys playing with this!

Held attention for a long time!
I've never used regular kinetic sand, but we are pretty experienced with playdough. This really does feel sandy, but it sticks together really well. Adding the water only helps it stick together more, even when the kinetic sand is saturated. It's a little trickier to get the sand out of the included molds compared to playdough, but once you're able to start it peeling away then it comes off easily and doesn't lose any details from the molds included in the kit (eg the face on the cloud). The sand is grey under room temperature conditions, but turns colors (pink or blue) with ice water. Simply touching the sand adds enough warmth to turn it grey again. We used the kit outside on a hot day and needed a steady supply of ice water to keep the sand colorful. My two year old really loved squirting cold water to change the color, and it kept their attention for a surprisingly long time! I recommend this if you need a chill activity that also builds fine motor skills.

Kinetic Sand Splash, Water Play Sandbox
My kids had a really fun time playing with this! They're big fans of all things sensory play and this was a big hit, especially for my 6yo and 9yo. My 11yo liked it too but wasn't as impressed with the color changing. Its easy to clean up and mess is surprisingly limited considering! We were able to reuse the kit numerous times over several weeks without issues.
