Zensur, Zensur und Zensur
Vorab, das Modell an sich ist Klasse. Typisch Tamiya, super Passgenauigkeit! Doch warum dann nur 3 Sterne? Und was hat es mit der seltsamen Überschrift auf sich? Nun, das Paket kam pünktlich von Amazon an. Ich öffnete das Paket und nahm den Inhalt heraus. Schon beim öffnen wunderte ich mich über den Verschluss der Verpackung, der untypisch mit 4 Streifen handelsüblichen Tesafilm versehen wurde. Nun gut, dachte ich, wird schon nix sein. Doch beim Anblick des Decal Bogens musste ich schlucken. Amazon hat ohne Rückfrage mit dem Verkäufer (mir) und auch ohne irgendein Hinweis auf der Produktseite zu vermeken, die Verpackung geöffnet und die Decals um die Swastikas erleichtert. Dazu auch noch sehr auffällig, da der Schnitt krumm und schief ist. Wenn die Situation in Deutschland nun mal so ist, dass es ein Verbot von diesen Zeichen gibt (was in vielerlei Hinsicht mehr als gerechtfertigt ist, meiner Ansicht nach aber nicht im Falle vom Modellbau oder vergleichbaren Dingen), dann sei es so. Aber, es ist meiner Meinung nach ein Muss den Verkäufer über diesen Umstand zu informieren. D.h. ich wäre Einverstanden damit, wenn Amazon einen darauf verweist hätte.

Schöner Bausatz
alles sehr paßgenau, lediglich 2 Senkungen an der Tragflächenoberseite und der Übergang zum Rumpf mußte nachgespachtelt werden. Kanzel und Decals sind 1A.

Tamiya or Nothing
I'm new model aircraft building and as much as I'd love more detail / photo etch and the like, I'm not there yet. Perhaps my skills will eventually allow me to work with other kit manufacturers, just not now. I've (attempted) to build one Hasegawa kit, an F16, which was an absolute fit disaster. I've built an Airfix kit (1/48 Sea Fury - which was a fairly good kit) but my second Airfix Kit, the Hawker Hurricane, has been a challenge. Not the case with any of the Tamiya kits I've put together. I don't have aspirations to enter my builds in any competition so a very straight forward kit such as this is all I need. I can put them together fairly quick like and get to painting straight away. You just can't beat Tamiya fit.

Magnificent Me 109!
Another Tamiya triumph, the plastic parts were clean and detailed for the scale of the aircraft. Only bare minimum tidying up to do, and a sharp craft knife blade run over any mould seams soon dealt with them. The parts are thankfully not attached with large attachment points to the sprue so are quite easy for removing to avoid damaging the plastic. No fit or join issues with this one and the end result, after some airbrushing, camoflauge application and the decals applied, turns it into a very nice looking WW2 fighter aircraft. Hopefully the photos will do it some justice.
