Redefining a classic
DO NOT BUY THIS FOR YOUR KIDS. To reiterate my first point, this is definitely not a toy for children. The complexity of the transformation and the use of die cast metal in the construction make this a toy for big kids only (13+). Thundercracker is looking great in a stunning shade of blue. His almost bizarre alternate form, a Mitsuoka Orochi tuner car, gives way to a sleek, familiar robot with some seriously menacing null ray arm cannons. Yeah, the wings on the back are pretty car-tastic, composed of the ENTIRE top of the car, but hey, that’s still pretty darn clever. That, and the great attention to detail with the lightning bolt stripe on either side. I forgive them entirely. The car is a serious beast, as well. I’m not really a car guy, but this just gets me going. It’s sleek, aerodynamic, and its so darn blue-tiful. Even though it’s not the seeker jet we’ve come to know and love over the years, it’s still very evocative of his times in the sky. There's even a little easter egg jet mode you can do with the leg wings to turn him into a flying car. Kind of weak, but I still spend a few minutes making him fly. Overall, a pretty cool toy if you have the money to spend. A definitive plus to any collection.

Was a great gift
The Okamora Orochi Thundercracker rules! It is one of the best transformers ever. Beautiful packaging, excellent quality control. The person I gave this to, who is a huge transformers fan, absolutely loved it! Your thundercracker collection isn't complete without this one!

Impressive new take on a classic Seeker
Thundercracker is one of the original Seeker jets. Anyone familiar with his brothers, Starscream and Skywarp, know that he's the blue one, Skywarp is the purple one, and Starscream is the red one. Well, the Japanese artists/engineers have really pushed the boundaries with these three figures and in many ways will be offending the traditionalists. All three of these figures have elements that let you know who they are. The wings on their backs. The null ray canons mounted on their arms. The small wings jutting from their legs. And the over the shoulder in-takes. But the artists have done an amazing job of thinking outside of the box and truly created a new take on these classic staples of the Transformers universe. I'm impressed with the style, the poseability, and the look of each of the Seekers. Starscream has a different head as the leader of the Seekers and is creepy and cool at the same time. Thundercracker's and Skywarp's heads are amazing. They bring you back to the originals but provide a new updated look. The transformation of each of these figures can be a bit challenging the first time around. The doors are meant to pop off as they are attached with a ball joint. This can be frustrating but it is easy enough to pop these off during transformation and to reattach these at the conclusion. The figures can be displayed in a variety of poses. This said, the figures are not that "solid," meaning that everything doesn't tightly snap into place. If you move the arms up too high, the over-the-shoulder in-takes move out of alignment. This is clearly not a toy meant for kids but rather for adults who want to pose this on their shelves or display cases. Still, even with these downsides, I recommend these figures if only to have a new, modern, pushing-the-envelope version of these three classic bad guys of the Decepticon ranks.
