High quality, still going strong after 4+ years and frequent toddler use
This is a high quality child instrument and we've been enjoying it for several years. It's less expensive than one I purchased at a souvenir shop in Hawaii, but has a nicer sound. The souvenir shop one broke years ago, but we still use this one frequently. My child enjoys strumming and plucking the strings. My spouse is also able to play some nice songs on this Hape ukulele. When my child was about 2 years old, he stood on the neck of this instrument and it snapped off. We glued the neck back on and it still works, as if nothing had happened. We got the idea to buy this Hape ukulele from friends who have children slightly older than ours, and theirs is still in good condition, too, after many years of use. I went back to write this review for the ukulele, because I had purchased a Hape child guitar recently and wrote a review for the guitar. The ukulele seems to be slightly higher quality than the guitar, but I think both are very good quality child instruments. I purchased the red, orange, and yellow Hape ukulele.

Perfect for Kids. Durable!
My son loves this! It his just his size and he plays it almost constantly. He is a small 2 year old, but it is just his size and he has no problems handling it. It is very durable and has taken quite a beating. We've had it nearly 6 months. It goes EVERY where with us. To gramsy's, the sitter's, any time we're in the car...to bed. There is wear along some of the edges where the paint is coming off. This is because he would hit it on the ground when he first got it. He still drags it along the ground sometimes. 2 of the tuning keys are coming off, they've both lost one screw. I don't attribute this to the quality of the ukulele at all. He got it just after he turned one and he's a pretty rough kid. I actually didn't think it would hold up this long. I just figured he'd enjoy it and it was a decent enough price that he could LEARN to be gentle with it. It's still in very good condition for as much as he plays with it and as active as he is. I'd definitely recommend this product. I plan on buying this exact one if and when this one finally breaks. It was shipped and arrived home very quickly.

Playable for a toy
This ukulele was purchased for my daughter. She wanted one because I play one at bedtime for her. The paint job is mostly good. Amazon sent me a used one, and they sent me a new one without making me send the old one back. It does take a very long time to tune this ukulele. The strings need to be stretched, so I over tightened them and this definitely seemed to help. I was able to play some songs on it. The tuning has improved, you just have to be patient with it. After all, it’s not a professional instrument. It’s not very loud, but it’s not very big so this was expected. It’s the size of a soprano ukulele. Overall, it’s a good beginner ukulele for young children, especially for the price!

Better quality than expected
My son loved this ukulele. It was perfect size and I love that it's a real instrument, not a toy. Really good quality. Very well made. My son has dropped it quite a few times and im surprised very little damage was made. Used an online tuner to tune and works great. Recommend and would even purchase again to gift this item in the future.

Sturdy!
The media could not be loaded. Bought this ukulele for my 2 year old almost 6 months ago. It has held up to all kinds of abuse - no strings popped, still tunable, and structurally sound! Paint is still bright and beautiful after many bangs and drops!

Great beginner ukulele. Stays in tune much better than any other cheap ukulele I've used in the past
Not bad at all for beginners. Bought for my son to play around/learn on as he likes to "play along" when I play mine. Once you get it in tune, it pretty much stays in tune (remember to let ukulele strings stretch!) so no complaints there. Overall, seems like a cheap but sturdy-enough quality built instrument. For those who play, you can get by with actually playing tunes on it. My only gripe, and really, this will be for intermediate nit-pickets: the fret board does not have any finish to it. It's pretty much raw, unfinished wood. You can still play your notes and chords just fine, but the fret board is rough and has a lot of friction. You will NOT be able to bend any notes or strings in the slightest bit on that fret board. But that's why this is a beginner one and I don't expect my son trying to do anything more than a few notes and chords, rather than trying to shred on it.

Great Toy for Learning and Playing NOT a serious instrument
After "helping" his dad play the ukulele, I got this for my grandson for his 2nd birthday. It is a toy but we can tune it. But he enjoys the strings and carrying it around. It is not for serious music although we have been able to play it a little, when he will let us. It does not stay in tune but it is getting better. I highly recommend it because it is very sturdy (he has thrown it and stood on it) which you need for a 2 year old. The colors are appealing and we have been able to get decent music WHEN he will let someone else hold it!

We bought for my 2 year old
Update: it's been two years since we bought this my son has left it outside in the rain and all the normal playing around. It is indestructible lol. Strings are in decent shape and can still be tuned. Best buy ever. Will definitely buy again if and when we need another one. My now 2 year old daughter loves to play with it as well. We bought this for my 2 year old's birthday ( he loved to play on his dad's guitar and we wanted to get him his own). He absolutely loves it! We have had it for 6 months now and he has been very rough on it, but it has held up! No cracks or breaks etc. Great quality, decent sound, and worth every penny.

Bellissima, solida e “professionale”!
Bellissima “chitarra” con suono di ottima qualità. In pratica è proprio uno strumento non giocattolo. Resistente e molto bello esteticamente, lo consiglio rispetto alle solite chitarrine che suonano male e sono scarse in termini di qualità.
